I was going to congratulate him for this, but he does not "Get the Constitution." He obviously hasn't read the 2nd amendment.

Exactly. I like Kucinich and will give him credit where credit is due, but it's ridiculous to say that he "understands the Constitution." He doesn't understand the 2nd amendment or the 10th amendment which specifically defines what Congress is allowed to do.

Yeah, I forgot he didn't get the 10th either.

That said, he still understands more of the Constitution than John McCain and Lindsey Graham. And very possibly more than Ted Cruz as well.

(For the record, Ted Cruz doesn't understand the 2nd or 10th amendments either.)

I have such mixed feelings about Denis Kucinich. I support his stance on foreign policy because he wants to respect the constitution, but when it comes to domestic issues he just wants more government in all realms of our lives. Am I wrong in thinking this? Kucinich doesn't like the free market, he endorsed Obamacare and he wants regulation after regulation. Or is it the case that he's my enemy's enemy and I have to work with him?

Precisely how I feel, too.

Kucinich understands the parts of the Constitution he agrees with, which is very little.

I don't know why you say that. Cruz led the fight along with Rand and Lee to kill the gun control bills in the Senate. That's one issue that he seems to be very good on.

How does Cruz not understand the 2nd?

Actually, from recollection, I'm actually wrong. I had in mind where he voted to give medical data to the Federal Government, which he did do but I guess technically that's not a 2nd amendment issue even though it is related.

As for Kucinich, he definitely seems better on the issue than he used to, but he also cited the SCOTUS decision, which wasn't particularly pro-gun to begin with. He seems open to an assault weapons ban still. Which is clearly unconstitutional.
