Kos calls RP an "overt racist"

They are mindnumbingly stupid at Dailykos, I can't stand to read their posts. I read a bit of that thread but they don't follow logic or reason or research anything themselves..

The "crazies" in both parties are very similar...

Over on Daily Kos, Markos Moulitsas has a post where he quotes that old Houston Chronicle piece. Go to his site and just scroll down a bit.

I left him a nasty comment, I'll probably get banned.:)

There are a lot of intelligent and well meaning people that blog at Kos, there are also a lot of Kossacks that support Dr. Paul. A decent portion of the moderation there is trying to squelch overtly pro_Paul diaries and comments.

Moulitsas is trying to hold it together and maintain some form of democratic coalition, but the freedom message crosses all boundaries.

Arch-partisans from both the left and the right are making an appeal to "party over principle" but it's a losing proposition. The more desperate their arguments become the more transparent they become as well.

Watching some of the "me too" democrats parrot the talking points he outlined shortly after the November 5th money bomb has started to drive many of the more principled posters away. Many of these guys are smart enough to do their own research and as a result, their own thinking.

There is no need to fear desperation. Celebrate it.

Exactly! This is a great thing. It separates the partisans from the thinkers. Irrational partisanship just makes us and Dr Paul look better in the eyes of the democrats who use their brains.

Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.

Kos is a bunch of wacky liberal communists.......see I can play the game too.

Oh yea, and if anybody asks, Fox News and Bill Kristal are rampant anti-Americans.

I've been trying to search... are there any sources besides the wikipedia entry about the ghostwriter?

Daily Kos is the mirror image

of Free Republic. In fact, FreeRepublic at least doesn't slavishly tow the GOP line. Criticism of Bush is even allowed. It wasn't a couple of years ago when I got banned.

Here's a source

This is from an online interview Ron Paul did with the Muckraker Report:

http://www.teamliberty.net/id447.html

Here's what Dr. Paul said:

In 1992, I was back in medicine full time, but lent my name to a foundation that published large volumes of material. A staffer wrote some things under my name that I did not approve. I have taken responsibility for these comments and apologized. If you look at my 30-year record and my numerous writings on the subject of race, I think anyone will clearly see that those comments do not reflect my beliefs.

Kos should have known better. This incident had already been covered numerous times, in user diaries with hundreds of comments, on his website. Even if he somehow missed them, he could have done a little research first.

Then when he posted his bit and quickly got the real story in the comments, he did a follow up post saying the explanation wasn't good enough.

I think he probably knows better, he's just trying to smear Ron Paul to scare away some of the independents in New Hampshire, so they will vote for Obama instead of Ron Paul, and help defeat Hillary there.

Let's see, Kos gets slightly over a half million viewers a day. Huffington Post which also blogged on the topic gets more. I guess that Dr. Paul is so popular that it doesn't matter is these viewers think he is a racist. Guess thats why the good doctor is soaring in the polls. Or not.

Why hasn't the campaign forthrightly renounced these 35 year old statements instead of engaging in what looks like evasions? Why have they kept the $500 from that pond scum racist Don Black? Why are they inviting these sorts of questions to distract from the real message?

I don't happen to believe that Paul is a racist but his various unfortunate statements over the years need to be addressed by the campaign. Calling Kos names isn't going to do much.

Even IF Ron Paul really is racist, that is nothing compared to the dirt on the other candidates, makes Paul look like an angel
