Now they couldn't let Ray Lewis retire without buying him a ring. They did the same thing with Jerome Bettis.

And the Broncos, so John Elway wouldn't retire without jewelry. Of course, when they obviously and deliberately screwed the Chiefs out of the AFC Championship, it wasn't Elway's last season after all. It was Marcus Allen's. And if they hadn't done it, Allen would hold the record for the longest time between winning two rings. But I guess the league either didn't think of that, or didn't think it would be talked about enough to suit them.

That was from earlier in this thread when Baltimore was playing Denver. Didn't care who won that game, but the officiating was leaning towards the Ravens in that game too.

You should read this thread if you think this is the only sports championship I have said was bought. Most are these days, and I usually don't have a dog in the fight. I say whether I do or not.

But grats Nirv. Everything aside, I've liked and followed the Ravens since game one in 1996. It's nice to see Lewsis retire with another ring and maybe Reed too.

I wish both would play 5 more years and I wish both had found something else to occupy their time Super Bowl Sunday.
