Colin Kaepernick latest QB to thrive under Niners' Jim Harbaugh

NEW ORLEANS -- It is, to be sure, a risk, switching out quarterbacks in mid-season, as Jim Harbaugh has.

That moving on from Alex Smith is even a big deal buys the San Francisco 49ers coach the benefit of the doubt.

This one isn't hard to explain. Smith deserves a ton of credit for resurrecting his career in 2011, and was mostly outstanding this fall. That said, this is the same guy who lost a training camp battle to J.T. O'Sullivan in 2008 and another to Shaun Hill in 2009, and was benched in 2010. And the same guy who, truth be told, did enough to get the Niners to the NFC title game last year, but not enough to deter management from making a run at Peyton Manning (yes, that happened).
...

Crow is on the menu for Sunday dinner in SF...

Karma bites Harbaugh in the ass.

I cannot believe the Ravens choked against the Steelers today. I'm not a Baltimore fan, (Cincy guy) but sheesh. That should not have happened.

Disappointed in the Ravens...

Anyway, did everyone enjoy Bob Costas' anti-gun speech inspired by Fox Sports writer Jason Whitlock during half time of the Eagles and Cowboys game? I saw Twitter blew up about it, and rightfully so. "Never let a good crisis go to waste" Right?

What was the crisis? That the Cowboys were on national tv?

One of the Kansas City Chiefs finally did something worth talking about. Unfortunately, that thing was a murder-suicide. Just when we thought their season couldn't get appreciably worse...

A KC Chief player murdered his girlfriend, then drove to the team practice facility where he thanked his head coach and general manager for the opportunity, and then killed himself. Bob Costas said that the tragedy would've never happened if the KC Chief player never owned a gun.

I wonder how many morons were nodding in agreement with Bob Costas last night?!

To me, it was just the media's way of explaining to Americans why they should give up their guns and ask for more laws against them. Whitlock and Costas are both idiots and tools.

isn't that nice...a moment of silence for a guy with the world at his feet because he was born with physical abilities that allowed him to play a game and receive millions of dollars and then MURDERS his girlfriend. Don't care that he killed himself...fuck this asshole piece of shit.

2 dimensional thinkers...i almost feel sorry for Costas. He lives in another world in his own mind.

The Ravens are what should be the only remaining challenging game for my Broncos (only one left with a winning record)- we could go undefeated for the rest of the regular season. Clinched the division Sunday by beating Tampa Bay ((OK- rest of the division COMPLETELY sucks). Offense is ranked #5 and defense #3 in the country. It is that "D" which is really impressing me.

At the Raiders on Thursday, then at the Ravens, and home against Cleveland, and KC.

I would be very happy that the Lions are tanking to get a great draft position next year except that they aren't actually tanking, they are legitimately trying for about 57 1/2 minutes every week. Gotta give Andrew Luck credit.
