Just curious though, has Kerry done any campaigning recently? His Facebook page has two posts in the last week and there's nothing in the Events section of his website. Does anyone in the district know what's going on with his campaign? Did he attend the GOP meetings and try to earn their endorsements?

It's amazing; this guy is very pure and very anti-establishment, and for that very reason the neocons are aligning to defeat him. That fact alone speaks for itself. Bentivolio needs funds because the neocons are stacking the deck against him. When our liberty movement coalesces around a candidate we usually succeed. This race should be obvious. Our guy is the only candidate on the primary ballot in a Republican-leaning district. To be defeated by a write-in neocon candidate would be a shame. This race needs to be a high priority.

Yep, we need to get the Liberty pac behind him and coalesce our supporters around him like we did Massie and Amash. It would also help to get a hat tip from Ron himself but regardless, this is very important. This kind of opportunity virtually never happens when a sitting congressman ousts himself by default and the only one left on the ballot is a strong RLC-endorsed guy that is damn near a shoe-in for the general. Anything less than giving everything we have for this guy would be shameful and regretful.

I'm being completely serious here...is Kerry giving everything he has? Does anyone from his district know what he's been up to? There's been no information coming out of his campaign. No events, no Facebook posts, nothing.

They had a volunteer meetup last Saturday but I wasn't there. They had it in the most NW part of the district so it was kind of a push for me to head up there when it was an hour away (plus construction on the main route up there) @ 9am on the weekend. He's got exactly 2 months before the primary so I'd expect him to be picking things up as we go forward. Just seems like there's been a wait and see approach to determine who is in fact gonna do a write-in and what not. Chances are, this guy thought he was just gonna go up against Thad as a protest candidate to his big spending ways. But, since he's gotten everything handed to him on a silver platter we really need to get the local RP experts (he may not even have any staff nor is he likely a seasoned activist) up there to help him with guerilla campaigning. Above all, he needs to feel confident in raising money (to fund the obvious) since the local insiders have been actively plotting against him. Kinda like RP in the national race.

This post is just speculation, or my opinion, but watching this all unfold, I would be doing the exact same thing that Kerry has been doing up to this point. Hang low, watch and wait to see how the situation develops. First McCotter was talking a write in, then he drops out, then Bennet talks about doing a write in, then drops out, now Nancy nobody is endorsed by the establishment to do a write in. This news cycle, is absolutely confusing to the average voter, or news reader, and should be left alone to itself, while Kerry gets his ground game of supporters gathered, and can get a strategy of who or what he is facing.

I think the next week, he and we need to get our supporters mobilized, a fraction of the RP supporters nationwide is enough to intimidate the establishment in this race. Nancy nobody is not known, trust me, I lived in Northville, which borders Novi, her hometown, and if she can raise $1 million, good for her, but I know voters that are going to do a write-in need to be motivated enought to do so, and that lady isn't even close to being it. Here is what I want to see in the next week....

1) Kerry's facebook likes need to hit 1,000

2) Kerry needs a nice size moneybomb that shows a force is gathering nationwide

This is our race to lose. Meaning us the supporters, and Kerry needs to be very careful right now in my opinion, and play ninja strategy, and start ramping up his campaign, with no mention of this write in lady obviously.

Do we all want this? I do.

Bentivolio's campaign should be hitting every news outlet out there and the internet with statements on how a dozen of establishment oligarchs got together to pick the future congressman. The optics of this are terrible to Nancy Cassis... if people actually hear about it from that perspective. Which, by the looks of it, they won't because Bentivolio apparently doesn't believe in campaigning.

Nancy Cassis was a state senator for a large part of the district and she's from Novi, which is a good base to have. She's a good pretty fiscal record in the senate and that will appeal to the republican suburbanites who should make a large part of this primary electorate.

I may be wrong, and I do want to see and hear from Kerry now. Now is the time he needs to start "ramping" it up, but most republicans I've talked with in the past couple of week in that district, aren't even aware of what is going on. I'm looking at these news articles, trying to create a write-in campaign in and of themselves, by promiting the latest GOP endorsed write-in, while mentioning Kerry as santa raising reindeers. Any publicity in this articles is negative, even though these papers and journalists are dem's in my opinion. How would publicity "right now" help him any? I guess any publicity is better than no publicity, but are the voters so psyched "positively" right now to care about this situation, in which many see it as being lost because this idiot Thad messed up? I don't know, I'm going by the general psyche out there and what I'm hearing.
 
One other thing, is the absentee ballots are going out within 2 weeks. Why even make this race look like a race, when this lady just decided to supposedly try a write in campaign, and there is only Kerry on the ballot?

Good point about the absentees, the underlying boost from those will help immensely. That said, Kerry may be short on staff and needs all the vols he can get plus loot to buy lit, signs and walking lists for us. Not sure if he's done this yet, but he needs to make op-eds about himself and campaign to his local Milford paper(s) which should tie up that area nicely. Also, hit up the Observer which covers Livonia, Plymouth and Canton with either ads or op-eds. I'm for realz going to the next meetup to see what's on the itinerary and to offer some input if in fact his campaign is whimpering along with grasshoppers.

The campaign was infused with so much energy when this whole ballot quandary occurred it was like lightning striking. This is a highly, highly improbable event and situation that occurred. Then the GOP establishment from the other end is attempting to throw Bentivolio under the bus. The campaign IS active and needs to be given the benefit of the doubt to figure things out and put things together. The whole situation is very, very weird and unprecedented. But be assured there are dedicated individuals helping Mr. Bentivolio out with various events and aspects of his campaign. An example is a Youth for Bentivolio event on the 15th of June. He has given various interviews recently and has spent thousands of dollars on his own campaign. His organization will only get better. Right now he's the treasurer of his own campaign committee so the lack of professional help, and lack of money to buy professional help certainly doesn't aide things. That's why we have a money bomb for next week.
 
As of April 1, Bentivolio had only raised $61,000 -- $57,000 of which was self-financed (eg., money he gave himself). That means he's only received $4,000 in actual donations up until April 1. What do you expect a man to do with $4,000? As of the last reporting period which ended March 31, he had only spent $2,800.

We need to get this guy some major funds to develop a professional campaign.

I just received a communication from Mr. Bentivolio and he assured me the campaign is moving forward. "events came at us very quickly" and "we are gearing up for a bigger campaign than previously expected." But he can't do this without our full support and some funds (as of the last filing period, he had only raised $4,000). In his previous campaign for State Senate, he opened up a campaign office and ran a solid campaign, attending many events and coming in 2nd place out of 6 candidates. We need to all get behind his money bomb on June 14. He needs funds quickly!!! Let's give him the influx he needs to run another solid campaign.

BONUS: MI SOS informed Cassis that State campaign funds CAN NOT be transferred to federal campaign funds. So her $60K left in her account may not be used in this effort. (Of course the $200K that McCotter has in his account may be transferred somewhere) And she is still willing to spend $200K of her own money.

I'm gonna try and make this but am foreman of a jury hearing an attempted murder case and the wrapup/deliberations on Mon may run a little late, today's docket was full so I was spared. I see Thayrone X is putting this on, he's one of the wannabe conservatives on a right-leaning talk station out of A^2. Looks like they invited the Nancy lady to speak but hopefully I can get there and ask her why she's trying to sabotage our nominee instead of party unity. <-Yep, I'm pulling that one out on her.
