Kentucky Democrats now worried...

Another politico who has advised one of the two House Democrats seeking reelection in Kentucky this year told Power Play that Conway "is on his own" with the ad, and suggested that the ad has deepened concerns that a "meltdown" by Conway could drag down the rest of the ticket in the state.
Watch for in-state democrats to start distancing themselves from him.

"This is exactly how Paul won the primary so big - [Republican Secretary of State Trey Grayson] went overboard on the attack and Paul was able to turn it around on him," he said.
GMTA.

I knew they'd try to blame randslides on the ad, though, rather than the popularity of his views. I don't see how that explains more GOP voting than ever before in a primary in ky.

Exactly. There will probably be a bunch of polls that come out now that show Rand way ahead, and they'll end up blaming Conway's ad for his big deficit.

Someone should track down Mongiardo and ask him what he thinks.

I think someone has already posted an article stating that Mongiardo disapproved of it believing that it would allow Rand Paul to then defend himself by speaking about his faith to persuade voters.

That was a supporter of Mongiardo

"This basically gives Paul a chance to do nothing but play the injured party and talk about his family values," said one Democrat, a veteran of two successful statewide campaigns and a supporter of Conway's primary opponent, Lt. Gov. Dan Mongiardo. "If you run something like that, you better have your opponent dead to rights, not some 30-year-old college prank."

Prominent republicans from Kentucky and up/coming challengers to Democrats should hold a group press conference and grandstand about how democrats can't debate issues only sling mud...

I don't know if they're from Kentucky but this is ominous for Jack. "Even Democrats think Conway attack on Paul went too far":
Democrats contacted by Capitol Hill Blue admit they are “bothered” by the ad and feel Conway “went too far” but few are willing to go on record saying so.

He’s blown it,” one Democratic consultant said of Conway and the ad. “He just handed the race to Paul. Any chance he had is gone.

This is alot bigger than a Kentucky issue. This is a national democrat issue. The Conway ad benefits Buck, Angle .....
