Kent Snyder RIP

So what was the primary cause? People don't die from pnemonia at 49 unless they have something else. Maybe cancer?

Campaign

so sad, kent was a really nice guy, i met him a few times in new hampshire and he was just always so warm and kind like RP

has RP issued a press release to his supporters about this or anything... since i haven't seen any real proof i would just like to hear it from him or someone from the campaign

Don, Jonathan, Justine, etc, from the blog are all former campaign workers.

Yes they can and do

Let it go.

Someone who is run down and exhausted can catch a super-bug they can't resist no matter how many antibiotics they are given. He was not a large man and it just got the better of him. It does happen even in this day and age. He did NOT have cancer that I know of.

Condolences to the family and I hope that Mr. Snyder is remembered in the history books as being an intregal part of the movement.

Flowers

I think some flowers would be great, but I don't think we should go overboard on that either. Not just as a money issue, but I remember a few years back a loved one died and everyone sent all these flowers and when it was over they became more of a burden because it was like "what the hell are we going to do with all of these flowers?" Eventually they just got thrown out.

Perhaps people could chip in and send ONE superlarge boquet from each website such as

Ron Paul Forums
Daily Paul

etc...

That way everyone is covered and they will have a nice array of a dozen or so which is not too many. The churches will then use them for their halls so they won't go to waste.

Shocking. What a tragedy.

I was fortunate enough to meet Kent in the airport after the NH primary. It was the day after the primary and I was pooped. While waiting for my flight, I was seated on the floor with my laptop catching up on a week's worth of missed news. Every so often I would look up to see what was going on. I saw Rand Paul walk by. I saw Lew Moore walk by. I saw Kent Snyder walk by. I'm sure they were pretty beat at the time and I didn't want to bother them. I was pooped myself. About a half hour before boarding, I went in search for food. The best I could find was a McDonald's nearby. While inside eating my poison food, Kent Snyder stopped by to look at the menu. He decided against dining there and instead went over to the news stand next door. I had just finished eating and had some time to kill, so I went over to the news stand to talk to him.

He was extremely personable and friendly. We chatted about various things. I don't recall everything that was said verbatim. But I do recall one particular exchange. I had told him how disappointed I was with the NH primary results. He shared the disappointment, but told me not to give up and to keep the message alive in the same way that Paul had for the past 30+ years and the way that Paul would continue to do so in and beyond this election. These were extremely motivating words that I would carry with me for the PA primary many months later.

Our conversation was about to end when I recalled the (undocumented) quote by McCain about Ron Paul. I asked him if the quote was true and he verified that it was. In fact, he did document the quote in his thesis, which was about Dr. Paul's congressional voting record (still can't find an electronic copy of his thesis).

Anyway, I didn't really know him well, but he will be missed. I salute Kent Snyder for being a driving force behind Paul's candidacy, which has awoken me from a slumber of political ignorance and apathy.

/salute

i logged in just now and am totally surprised and saddened to hear of his passing at
such a young age. i think many of us took for granted how pivotal and vital he was to
the campaign, and now his absense has highlighted this. the bouquet is a nice idea, i
can see where one nice big floral arrangement and 200 to 2000 small donations could
both remember him, his loved ones and his pet causes! truth and liberty! he is missed!

It is said that “history is written by the victors."

Let's see to it that history remembers Kent fondly by finishing what he helped us start.

R.I.P. Kent, and thank you.

I will definetly make sure people remember Kent and that those who come know the role he played in the revolution.

It's always sad to see those involved in igniting a fire never get to see when it's burning at it's brightest.

Mr. Snyder's passing confirms rumors about his health mentioned a few weeks ago on the Jack Blood show, so does not come as a full surprise. Condolences to his friends and loved ones.

Just a quick update, but we're going to be waiting to hear what arrangements / requests are made before we open up a chip-in.

Wise. I'm still leaving myself on the hook for a donation though, even if its just for flowers. Keep us apprised, please.
