Kent Snyder RIP

Sad :(

On the chip-in, would it be necessary? I mean, I have to assume that Kent Snyder was financially secure and his family may not need any money and any money given to them would be better used/given elsewhere.

If that's not the case than I'm all for a chip-in. But if the money isn't needed I don't see the purpose of doing it.

CFL sounds like where Kent Snyder would of wanted a chip in;)

I'm trying to get some info now...

May the Lord have mercy on him and give comfort and hope to his loved ones.

For flowers, if nothing else. If you don't want to contribute, then don't.

It isn't about filling a financial need.

It's about an expression of sympathy for his survivors.

Big difference.

Flowers are one thing. That wasn't what I was talking about. But I urge everyone not to go overboard on this unless Kent's family really does need financial assistance.

Why is this such a concern of yours, how people choose to spend their OWN money?

I hear what you're saying, and you're right. My original thought process was that a donation would be a token amount for flowers or a rememberance wall or whatever unless there was some sort of emergent need asked for by the family.

Not to put words in his mouth, but I just think that he's saying that in Kent's case, maybe there are better ways to express our condolences than a cash chip-in. Nothing more, nothing less.

I would be up for chipping a few bucks toward an RPF flower thingy or something. Just not a lump sum.

I'm trying to change our country by electing people to Congress and continuing and advancing the much bigger Campaign for Liberty, which I think is a far better way to remember Kent Snyder and his efforts to advance liberty, and if Kent's family does not need any money I don't see the point of giving it them when it could be better used.

Yes, it's your money, so you can do what you want with it, but just like you have the freedom to do what you want with your financial property (your money) I have the right to my freedom of speech.

If you guys wanna buy Kent's family some flowers that's great and I'll support that. I'll even scrap together some money to donate to this cause if needed, but what it seems we're talking about here is financially supporting his family when they simply may not need it. I also think we don't need to buy 500 bouquets of flowers either if we do the flower thing.
