Kansas Caucuses Thread

I am wondering if all the voter fraud advocates believe Ron is actually getting twice or thrice the number of votes, and Romney's support is actually far less (and, I guess, Santorum's as well)? On what do you base those numbers on the whole? I don't think it's that the outcome is determined. I think that, for myriad reasons, not a whole lot of our people are turning out compared to theirs. I know that is a radical notion. That is not to say there are not a whole bunch of voting issues, but I don't think they are making us lose. I think they're trying to manipulate the numbers for the frontrunners. If we were in Santorum's position we'd have a whole lot more to worry about and complain about with voter fraud.

I think the problem is that not many people here have heard of whats called "the silent majority".

I agree. All of the voting issues are anecdotal or isolated instances. Yes, there are many. But there is nothing to suggest it is systematic - or the reason RP is losing. For there to be so would involve hundreds if not thousands of people across all these states. Someone would have spilled the beans by now.

I'm sorry, but it is a childish reactionary form of denial to suggest this is taking place on a large enough scale to make a big difference.

lol

Even if it were at such a scale, do you ever think it would be confirmed by someone who would be seen as credible?

Personally I look at the rallies, caucuses, and primaries, and see a very different turnout in comparison to the actual votes. I've gone as far to think that in some states that may actually be switching out Ron votes to give to other candidates or even that Ron's true vote total reflects that of the pronounced winner, such as in Nevada.

But it's all speculative and hard to prove either way. My gut tells me however, with all things considered as far as money and establishment in the GOP and media goes, that fraud is not only likely, but highly probable -- and there is plenty of evidence to further that probability.

there are numerous accounts of polling sites overflowing with RP supporters where the votes aren't reflective of those that showed up. RP's supporters will bother to drive to a crowded public speaking event, park, find a seat in a SRO room in record numbers, but the same people don't bother to come out and vote? this doesn't make a lot of sense. also-the GOP has the final say on vote totals, they make the rules and do the back room counting. i personally believe RP supporters are far more engaged in the process, more politically astute and motivated than any other supporter of mitt, rick or newt. whether its the GOP or the MSM, this whole process has been unbelievably one sided all along, Ron's been locked out from the start.

Voted in Lawrence
Im guessing Paul should get around 30% from Douglas

The turnout looked less than four years ago...but it was hard to tell because the caucus was moved to a bigger building.
Last time around there was a large Huckabee turnout, lots of people with tshirts and signs.
I was expecting similar support for Santorum that Huckabee had, but there was no sign of it.
Only strong support I saw was for Paul.

Good job to whoever turned the high school into the Ron Paul caucus center.
Hope to see you again in 2016!

I just got home from the Shawnee County which is where Topeka is jlocated. This is what I conclude;

1. Our speaker was outstanding. Blew all of the other candidates away. Not even close.
2. Newt and Mitt supporters were almost non existent.
3. Enthusiasm goes to us, like always.
4. Numbers go to frothy. Overwhelmingly 50+ age audience, which is his strong point.

Overall I think it went well. I would say second place behind santorum.

In all honesty I wouldn't be able to miss 10,000 in sales in my business to attend a caucus either.
I wouldn't even be willing to give up $5K, much less $10K, to vote. I might feel guilty afterwards though, and throw a few bucks towards the campaign.

1.6% reporting

Rick Santorum 83 46.9%
Newt Gingrich 47 26.6%
Ron Paul 29 16.4%
Mitt Romney 18 10.2%

Yea...my wife had to pass on making a few hundred today to vote.
She just considered it a campaign contribution.

She might have done both if we'd known ahead of time it was more open this time around.
They said the doors would close a 10:00, but they still let people come in and vote anyway.

We went out to the car after the speeches and then came back in to vote.
People were at the door assuming we had just shown up, and told us where to go to register and then vote.

We could have shown up after the speeches, voted, and been out of there in half an hour.
