Wow, Where is someone with a .10 cent sign for Ron Paul!!!! Beat that NEWT!

Are these people seriously stupid enough to believe that a president has the power to lower gasoline prices?

The interesting thing about Newt's $2.50 gas demagoguery is that he fails to address money printing and market expectations of Middle East War as key factors driving prices upwards. Given that domestic consumption is flat to down, and domestic production is marginally up, war and monetary policy are likely much more potent drivers.

Is that Jackie Broles ( of Red State Update fame) holding one of the signs? LOL

It's too bad that Kansas has a dumb caucus. My entire family supports Ron Paul as well as my extended family - we all would have voted for him in a typical Primary. Unfortunately, we also own two retail stores in town and are not going to sacrifice a potential 10k in business on a Saturday (our busiest day) to go caucus.

I have at least 10 family members who would have gone and voted if it weren't a caucus.

And THIS is why we are not winning more. People are too wrapped up in their own worlds to sacrifice for a greater good.

I'm getting ready to go to my caucus in Stafford County, Kansas. I'm going to be giving a short, two minute speech for Ron Paul. I pretty much have it memorized, so it should go well. My county is very socially conservative, so I expect Santorum to win my county pretty easily. I'm just hoping that Ron can at least get third in my county and get at least 20% of the vote statewide so that he can get some delegates. I'll post an update on what happened at my caucus when it's over.

When you give your speech ask all those social conservatives if they feel we can afford more big goverment no matter how good the intention. Bring up Santorums dismal voting record and conclude we cant afford more debt!

There are two sides to this. Important Caucus/Primary events are also being shifted around, to ensure that those who would vote for Ron or some other non-establishment type will lose much more than the typical voter. There are states where things have been moved to ensure that there are fewer college kids around (and keep in mind that dorms close), or to make sure that business owners would have to pretty much shut up shop to attend. By contrast, others have a day off and nothing much has changed, and they proudly skip down there to vote for Romney or Santorum.

In all honesty I wouldn't be able to miss 10,000 in sales in my business to attend a caucus either.

Point taken. I've already maxed to the campaign, donated to REVpac, supported RP supporters' businesses, bought supplies, intend for my husband to max to campaign, plus all the time off of work I've already taken and plan to take I'll be in well over 10K. I guess some aren't lucky enough to be in the position to be able to do that. It's not an 8 hour event, it's a couple three hours.

Point also taken. But I believe an important point to be gleaned from this particular situation is that Ron has WAY more soft support than we die hards like to think. And we can't get them to vote/caucus.

ron is spreading the message and that's important, -but let's face it... kansas is basically lucy holding the ball and we're a bunch of pathetic charlie browns expecting to really get a shot at it this time. the GOP has proven long ago that it will determine the outcome regardless of votes. expect the expected.

I am wondering if all the voter fraud advocates believe Ron is actually getting twice or thrice the number of votes, and Romney's support is actually far less (and, I guess, Santorum's as well)? On what do you base those numbers on the whole? I don't think it's that the outcome is determined. I think that, for myriad reasons, not a whole lot of our people are turning out compared to theirs. I know that is a radical notion. That is not to say there are not a whole bunch of voting issues, but I don't think they are making us lose. I think they're trying to manipulate the numbers for the frontrunners. If we were in Santorum's position we'd have a whole lot more to worry about and complain about with voter fraud.

Yes, I am wrapped up in keeping my business going and supporting my family. The amount of money lost and possible future sales can be huge. Much greater than I even wrote down depending on what kind of person stops by. I am not willing to sacrifice my business and the future of my business for one caucus.

It is obviously your choice, but there's something to be said for the idea of putting up some huge signs indicating the store is closed (for a few hours) due to the Caucus, with caucus information, and maybe a nice subtle Ron Paul 2012 sign in the window. I hope at least some of your family made it.

Yeah that would be nice in an idealistic world. If we only did a few hundred a day I would be more than happy to do that. I wouldn't sacrifice our biggest day of the week and possible future sales.

In all honesty I wouldn't be able to miss 10,000 in sales in my business to attend a caucus either.

Thank you. The people that don't understand this probably don't own their own business and can take a sick day if they want to.

Yes, my family and business come first. I have switched plenty of people to vote for Ron Paul and quite a few of them managed to go. I donated this time around as well as I could and I also caucused for him in '08 and went door to door for him back in '08 in IOWA. I'm sorry but my business comes before a caucus - and the KS GOP probably knows this all too well.
