Today was "organizational" day. LAGOP copied all provisional ballots so the campaign could have a copy of them and then they verbally attested to the fact that the ballots won't be destroyed.

Then they placed them in piles by parish (remember, upwards of 700 of them) and tomorrow the names will be given to each parish' registrar of voters where the people will be verified as legal republicans. Their vote will then be counted.

The campaign HOPES to put out a press release tomorrow evening to tell the results.

LaGOP is cooperating and everyone if on friendly terms.

I also think time was spent doing things like suing Orleans parish because their voter registration office won't release documents to LaGOP (a private organization), etc....

Thanks for the update.

I'm really upset at the whole "pro-life" vs. Ron Paul thing. Dr. Paul was endorsed by Jane Roe - what a joke!

I hope this really backfires in the faces of the other campaigns.

So, pending no 50% candidate on Feb.9, who chooses the 3 delegates from each Congressional District, and who chooses the At-Large at the State Convenetion on the 16th??

Actually, this could turn out the be big for Ron Paul if Huckabee doesn't make it to the national convention and no one gets 51% in the LA Primary.
My take is that most of the PFPL delegates will not vote for a Morman, detest Guiliani and will only grudgingly vote for McCain since these guys are not social conservative enought for the PFPL crowd. With Fred out, they will be supporting Huckabee or Paul.

But Didnt ron paul say on Nj radio station that he had own first place?

I had to change Parishes in where I live on January 7th. Are they going to dig deep enough for this? I was registered Republican before, just changed addresses...also the parishes were in the same district (5)...

That is, of course, assuming they are actually uncommitted.

I haven't heard anything this morning, which I *assume* means "plan A" is working and they are counting the ballots.

I'll let you know if I hear anything... I would be told about "plan B" because I would need to help with it.

jen,

Good to have u @ ground 0 to keep us up to date. Thank you for your efforts.

Thanks! :) The only problem is.. I have to sit around and wait for "the call". I KNOW the campaign is trying hard to have the results out today. They KNOW it is important and they are doing all they can to make that happen.

this whole process is like trying to win president of the soriety and we are the new kids on the block

True and I don't care. :) All I know is in my district, if I can pick up 60 provisionals, we can take 8 of 15 sports and Dr. Paul will get 3 national convention delegates.

That is my only focus right now.

I think you have a great point. When the PLPF slate was initially reported, I heard it was comprised of delegates for McCain, Romney and Giuliani. I think the PLPF slate was a strategy to keep RP from getting above 50%. My question is, if some of the delegates listed as "uncommitted" on the PLPF slate are also listed as "committed" on another candidate's slate, isn't that a case for fraud? Didn't McCain pass Ron Paul simply because his delegates were on more than one slate? I mean, aren't the PLPF voters who thought they were getting "uncommitted", really duped and therefore defrauded?

All of the delegate elected at the caucuses are officially uncommitted, even those on the Ron Paul slate. "Uncommitted" is being used in a technical way, meaning that none of the delegates are bound by party rule to vote for any one candidate.

This can be seen as a delaying tactic by the LA GOP. This is hugely important and we ain't hearing jack about why it's taking so long. Meanwhile, the press release gives everyone the impression that McCain won. Most of those ballots shouldn't have even been provisional in the first place!

The LA GOP either looks stupid or crooked. There is no third choice.
