I've been reading Murray for years!

I see it the exact opposite. Do to an overwhelming body of evidence the only logical conclusion one can reach is that the idea of a limited government, that protects our individual liberties, seems to have been a utopian idea full of false promises. I look a Jefferson`s experiment at limited government as a noble experiment that has failed. I support Ron Paul`s idea of a strict adherence to the Constitution simply because I feel that is the best I could ever hope for in my lifetime, and being a realist I know that even that is highly unlikely. Furthermore if we ever did get back to a Constitutional republic, we would be that much closer to the abolition of the state in it`s entirety, which to me is the ultimate goal.Very few Libertarians would think the Fire Dept. needs privatized. You're talking "anarcho-capitalism" with that one.
Libertarians like myself are in favor of limited government, not anarchy. Anarcho-capitalists have some very interesting, worthwhile arguments and literature that you ought to read, but I personally consider it utopian and full of false premises. There are a few of these guys that identify themselves as libertarian, or are even registered with the party, (e.g. Lew Rockwell and Murray Rothbard) but they're about as fringe as you get. They're the primary reason Ayn Rand disowned libertarianism, which was unfortunate.
If you are in line with a Thomas Jefferson style constitutional republic, you're in line with libertarianism.

Exactly, I`m not looking for an argument either and I respect your views. We are on the same team.. Cheers. That's the anarcho-capitalist standpoint. There are plenty of arguments to be made here, and I'd like to point out that I have a great deal of respect for your opinion on this matter, but I'm disinclined to really argue with you on the subject. Your goals and my goals are the same: maximum individual liberty within a society. We differ on the best way to achieve the goal, but not by much.

Repeal laws on prohibiting adult possession and use of drugs. I agree that there should be no drug war, but on banning them I think the states should decide which, if any, drugs would be banned, and at the state level I'd vote to ban most drugs.
It never ceases to amaze me that otherwise sensible people KNOW the history of Prohibition, KNOW it lead to organized crime, and STILL think that ANY drug prohibition can possibly work!
How many gang-bangers with cool wheels and fat pockets would exist if it wasn't for the War on Drugs? Imagine the world if the easiest way out of the ghetto was education and employment, instead of taking part in an illegal drug trade!
