Take these 2 tests to determine how Libertarian you are.

http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz.html (short, sweet, and simple)
http://www.bcaplan.com/cgi-bin/purity.cgi (long, makes you think, and gets right down to the matter).

anyway, I look at this in two ways; how I would vote at the Federal level, and how I would vote at the State level

quiz 1 (federal): Your PERSONAL issues Score is 100%.
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 100%.

Answers: AAAAA AAAAA

quiz 1 (state): Your PERSONAL issues Score is 90%.
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 100%.

Answer: AAMAA AAAAA

I've taken the second quiz before....I'll take it again and post the results later.

The Advocates is a great, very fast test to take.

Libertarian - Both scores 100%

I'm actually more "Libertarian" than the test checks for. :D

81 - medium core libertarian. maybe self conscious about it. friends want me to quit talking about my political views.

hahahahahahahaha!!!!!

123, i dont think we need to cut military by 75% and i dont consider myself an anarcho and i dont think the state should be dismantled totally as it is constitutional to have a weak central goverment, but beyond that yeah im a nut.

also im not for weakening immigration laws, im probably a paleo-libertarian

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 100%.
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 60%. (Test One)

"Should the law itself be privatized? " What does this mean?

Test two: 81

I refuse to take the second one, half of those things are downright ridiculous. No certificates for doctors, WTF? That's ridiculous, it's bad enough with the idiots in the medical industry now, imagine if every Tom, Dick, and Harry could be a doctor. Half of everyone would be dead.

Plus the immigration issue. We need stricter immigration laws if anything. Effective law in the right areas is fine.

On the World's Smallest Political quiz:

80% Personal
100% Economic

It's rather funny; Ron is on the record of saying that he doesn't think that doctors need certificates either. You have to think in terms of the government; just because they wouldn't get a certificate from the government (federal or state or local), doesn't mean they wouldn't get a certificate from a corporation, school, or non-governmental board of reviewers (for example, if you want to get into computer networking, it's highly recommended that you have a Cisco certification; this isn't handled by the state, but by a corporation....just like Microsoft's certification).

Remember, Libertarians often do not want to abolish everything; they simply want it privatized.

I agree whole-heartedly, and that's definitely one thing I'll never be Libertarian on.

while I'm at, if any of you take the small political quiz, post your answers on how you answered.

The government shouldn't be involved w/ doctors getting licenses. But some of the things Libertarians would have privatized is ridiculous, like the Fire dept.

Here's my one Disagree on the World's smallest Political Quiz:
Repeal laws on prohibiting adult possession and use of drugs. I agree that there should be no drug war, but on banning them I think the states should decide which, if any, drugs would be banned, and at the state level I'd vote to ban most drugs.

133 here

No reason to privatize fire departments, code of law, and court system.

I support public lands, as long as they really are public and people are free to use them as they please.

If we fight a war I feel we should win the war as quickly as possible and not worry about civilian casualities. That being said, the last war in our history that I would support was the revolultionary war

We need a military

let me put this way....the reason I want the war repealed is because it makes me safer (1st reason) and it's economically infeasible (2nd reason).

I'll explain the 1st.

Those who are drug addicts will try to get high/kill themselves with drugs...ok, you take away/ban that drug, they're going to do 1 of 2 things; find a new drug (this has happened recently with Nyquil), or secretly try to get a hold of that drug. The latter usually involves the black market, which is VERY profitable, which encourages young people to get into it (thus continuing on the drug process). Another thing it involves, usually, is breaking into stores to get what they want, and often, harming people. The former? Well, it'll eventually lead to you having to get prescriptions for EVERY single drug out on the market (because, theoretically, you can get high/kill yourself from any drug).

If people want to get high, they WILL find a way, and if they want to kill themselves, they WILL find a way. You can encourage them not to, but ultimately, there's nothing you can do, in the end, to stop them (unless you have big brother).

and secondly...even at the state level, if drugs are banned, you'll just create a HUGE bureaucracy again...but only at the State level.

Very few Libertarians would think the Fire Dept. needs privatized. You're talking "anarcho-capitalism" with that one.

Libertarians like myself are in favor of limited government, not anarchy. Anarcho-capitalists have some very interesting, worthwhile arguments and literature that you ought to read, but I personally consider it utopian and full of false premises. There are a few of these guys that identify themselves as libertarian, or are even registered with the party, (e.g. Lew Rockwell and Murray Rothbard) but they're about as fringe as you get. They're the primary reason Ayn Rand disowned libertarianism, which was unfortunate.

If you are in line with a Thomas Jefferson style constitutional republic, you're in line with libertarianism.
