Just got power back... here is my account of Sandy:

Where in Jersey are you?

I grew up in Clark, and my sister and her family are still there. I finally got to talk with her yesterday, she said it's just trees down everywhere and no power. My grandmother is in senior apartments in Cranford and they have power.

My sister said that there is no government around, and that neighbors seem to be helping each other, especially with food. Everyone is cooking up the perishables on outdoor grills and sharing them.

Consider yourself blessed.

is somebody yelling 'where is my bitcoin' in SHTF situations like these when internet cable could be potentially out of order? is there anymore argument in the order of things food-->gas-->commodity(gold silver) skyrocketing in the event of social breakdown if what government prints loses authority? so where is bitcoin on that list?

Kind of reminds me that having a chain saw was a pretty nice idea.

Ok, I have to share this. I am at a diner now and have seen my first FEMA employees - they left a $1 tip for these waitresses who lost a week of work!! :mad:

I'm not sure about employees, but I know for a fact that FEMA contractors get paid an obscene amount of money....

:mad::mad:

But I guess this is probably on par with the view of a Federal employee whose worldview is: let the government take care of you.

Peer to peer solar powered cards?

Everything's down again. No idea when it will be back.

Serious question, Nirvikalpa: Is there anything we here on the RPF boards can do to help you? I can't think of what it could be... but if you do, please let us know. In the meantime, hang in there and keep us posted.

We are in Sandy Hook, CT. Fortuntetly we have a generator, but can only afford to use it a few hours a day. There are no other problems here. Like I said, its like someone just decided to cut our power as some sort of sick mind game.

If you have connecttions to get them to put our power, tv, and internet back, that would be awesome.

I'm telling you these utilities will be a thing of the past. They will eventually be privatized and will never have outages. I know how to get this done.

You do? When do you expect to launch? Got your investors?
