Just Got Back from Louisiana HQ

Just got back from voting. Something that confused me is that when I was walking to sign in, some lady said 'slate #5?' and I ignored her to which she said 'come on!'. Then she asked the person I brought with me about Mitt Romney. So after voting I took a look at the slate list and #5 seemed to be an undecided/not sure slate.

That's a little confusing since I think Romney was slate #1. If you voted for #5, does that mean it goes to Romney or something?

How come you were not outside the polls saying slate 7?

What?

There were a couple guys from Paul land out front and I talked to them, if that's what you mean. I'm confused on slate #5 and how it's connected to Romney is all.

So does "pro-family, pro-life" have a big presence. That's who i would have guessed would win considering last time.

Last time others hadn't dropped out and LA voters thought that would rule McCain out. They couldn't decide between the OTHERS to block us. This time they'd know if it wasn't Paul it meant Romney and I don't think many pro lifers really consider him the best choice given his record on the issue.

I called an old friend before going to the caucus to tell him to go vote. He's registered as an independent so couldn't vote, but he said his father went and voted for Mitt Romney because Paul is anti-Israel. Then he proceeded to talk about how Christ's holy spirit is all he knows and how it transformed him and that Israel must be protected because of something in the bible or some shit.

I don't get it. Why are the slates divideing up the votes. Isn't it better to just have one slate that gets all the support?

Please explain, thanks.

check out the slate list. I am on 6 of the 10 slates in CD1. they are duplicdated slates. Was only suposed to be on 5 slates, but at last minute we pooled 500 bucks between CD1 delegates and bought a 6th slate. Slate 7 was the official Paul slate while 5 was Romney. The rest were end obamacare, citizens aqainst tedligts etcetc

The piece of paper I looked at was different. That PDF was the actual voting paper, at least on the back side.

There was something on Paul's table where it went through each slate briefly in large letters with a description, and I THOUGHT I saw #1 being Romney and #5 being 'undecided' or something.

Thats what I was thinking

it is the people on the slate who have votes counted for them. So if they are on more than one slate, they get all the people who vote for each, as I understand it. Some vote by 'gun rights slate' some by 'pro life slate' or whatever, because those are the endorsements that matter to that voter. Some vote by candidate. At least someone there should correct me if I am wrong, but that is how I understand it.

Wow, this is hilarious. The amount of folks who are uniformed on everything is just mind-boggling.

The ancient tribe of Israel is all over the world, a whole bunch of it here. Perhaps more than in Israel. If so, protecting our own country, including from economic collapse, is protecting Israel.

I wonder if people who think that way would feel differently about the state of Israel if it had simply taken a different name and changed nothing else at all? It is a political unit. God didn't come down and name them, in the 1940s, by anything I recall.

Hey guys, if anyone brought home a copy of that Slate list sitting on Paul's table outside the caucus locations, PLEASE make a scan of it and PM it to me. My friend just explained what it was. And... it was genius!

By the way, so far we know we won St. Helena parish, Livingston Parish, and I know we won the Jefferson HWY location. Still waiting on news on where I voted.
