Well 28% isn't exactly "the vast majority" but its a solid amount, double national numbers. Lots of diversity for sure. Still wondering about the other selections though.

I said this because many agnostics were choosing "Other", so it was more like 50 something percent.

Lots of Christians here!

Guess we all have something to be shocked about.

Was not meant in a derogatory sense... I was surprised that there were so many atheists, but I did not pass judgment on that fact.

In fact, in a follow-up post, I talked about how great liberty is because it allows all of us to pursue the values of our own choosing.

Should I instead be more politically correct and praise the number of non-Christians? I'm not upset about the number of atheists here. I think it shows that the freedom message unites people of all backgrounds.

I can be no more sure that god exists than I can the laptop i'm typing on. The only thing I know exists is my consciousness. The only proof I have of anything, is whatever the hell is thinking right now. Everything else either exists as I see it, or I simply perceive it as existing in that form. There is no way to prove which of the two scenario's exist. Its not that I don't believe in god, but I don't really believe in anything. I simply have the capacity to want and wish something truly is. I want there to be a god, but I don't believe there is anymore or less than anything else. Maybe I can believe in god the same way I believe in the people I love. But I cannot know that, only want it.

I don't understand why that bothers people. I'm simply identifying that I can either have faith in everything or in nothing. At what point do those two things become the same thing? But I'm still sort of fighting that one out amongst myself.

That was actually Rene Descartes' proof of God, more or less.

Something that always impresses me about Ron Paul is the extremes he's able to reach to. He's able to reach to the far left as well as the far left. He's able to reach to the evangelical Christians as well as the atheists. I don't know of any other person who is able to do that.

Ron Paul actually indirectly lead me to atheism. I didn't consider myself anything, then got involved in the RP campaign in 07, met some people that referred me to Stefan Molyneux, and I identified with his podcasts on atheism. Basically, I just wasn't taking a stance before, then I really thought about it.

I have always attended southern baptist churches. But looking at so called evangelicals, and so called "christians " in the world, and locally... I can't associate with their lack of true principles. In fact, most people I know who claim to be christians are total hypocrites and ruin the name of Christ when they speak.

So, I picked "other" and by other, I believe in God, his gift of his own Son, Jesus, and the message of love that he preached. The Bible is clear, and the evidence of a loving God who loves us is abundant. I don't believe that science is evil, and I think Ron Paul is almost a perfect example of how man is supposed to live. To me this election is so much more than Ron Paul though, but it is about shaping the human race. America is so influential in the world that a leader who endorses love and peace could literally change the world. Those who run on a platform of "kill, kill, kill" are frauds, and will only continue to bring hate and persecution to the world. GOD is LOVE. Even when the recipient of the love is your enemy.

Please be nice. We welcome all types here.

I forgot Agnostic, so lets just say Agnostic and Atheist are the same.

Excuse me? Let's just say Agnostic and Atheist are the same? I'm Agnostic and that is like saying Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich are the same. This thread should be removed it has no business being here.
