June 21st is NOT the official date!!

Parks are part of the Executive Branch. They really, really don't want us to peaceably assemble. So, they're trying to foul up as many vacation plans and airline reservations as humanly possible. They'll keep it up as long as they can.

I plan to be there April 15th with at least one charter bus from Mississippi. I keep repeating, everyone should do what they can whenever they can. If you can go to this one go! If another one happens, go to that one too if you can. Time is ticking - for the message to be spread. As Ron Paul repeatedly says, this is about the message not the man, and the march/rally is not only about the election. Keep the faith & fight patriots!

Viva La Revolution!

[Beware of naysayers, they're probably McCain's staffers =D ]

so.. let's see, still no date.

So, faith, if you go, then when the OFFICIAL date IS announced (if it ever is), you're trip won't have as much meaning as it could if it were with everybody together on the official date (if they get one).

My point is if we have all these rallies for freedom, April 15th, say 20,000 show up, it'll mean nothing and your efforts WILL be in complete and total vain. I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!!!But if we could just get a damn date... GRRR... this is beyond stupid anymore.... then we could ALL go TOGETHER to march on washington. As it is now, even my support of this has gone downhill. I've made necessary adjustments so I could be off for the week of June 21st so I could attend the march then. If this thing tanks again, I don't know what I'm gonna do.

I can't make the 15th one, but if you do something you believe in and stand up for what it right it is never in vain! This kind of mentality, that something doesn't matter unless it changes the world , or you win, makes me angry. I say march over and over again. Rally as much as possible. Don't give up. Keep up the spirit. One big rally on June 21st won't be enough. However, one on April 15th, another on June 21st, other activities, continuing to stay organized, it will add up! Nothing done that respects liberty and done in the name of liberty is done in vain.

For most people attending, they can't afford but one trip. Sorry to make ya angry, but we need to be TOGETHER on this thing, not scattered out.

I've noticed the forum has lost 4000 active members since January. Sigh!
If i'm coming from NZ, each day that passes it gets more expensive on the aeroplane sigh again.
I do understand the permit thing as i have had to organize... er events before. Only takes three days where i come from to get a permit. Must be cos Washington is so important!

IT'S SAD THAT WE NEED A FUKIN PERMIT TO MARCH IN A REVOLUTION! WTF IS WRONG WIT THIS PICTURE? I plan on being there on July 4th permit or not!

I hear more and more are saying that June 21st is the Official day thou. I will just prepare for both days :p

can we get an update on permits? did anyone talk to parks & recreation this week?

The website has the update: www.revolutionmarch.com

"The Buzz
Many are wondering what is going on with the permit and a date for the March. This is a quick update on our progress.

In order to have a peaceful rally and march in Washington D.C., we are required to secure proper permits from the National Park Services. This process is started by filling out an application and submitting it to the National Parks Service. Once they receive an application, permits are issued on a first come, first serve basis. When filling out the application several desired dates are selected to hold your event. We requested every Saturday from Memorial weekend to the first of August, which includes June 14th and 21st as first choices.

Revolution March submitted the application almost 4 weeks ago, we have now been assigned a permit number.

Even though they have not given us a date this is a positive step in that direction. Please remember they have over 900 applications to sort through at the National Parks Service. We call them several times a week hoping that the "squeaky wheel gets the grease". We hope to have information on a date and location in the near future."

Flames - your video absolutely rocks!! We posted it on the home page! You have June down as the time frame, and my guess is that it's an omen! I think we're gonna get June! At least that is my hope. Everyone- cross your fingers! :D

You only need a permit if someone is organizing it. Why can't we all just GO ?

Say we all just show up on June 21st and gather around the Washington Monument. About 25,000 of us show up. Then what? What speakers would be lined up and what stage would they use? What about porta potties, and trash cans? What do we do once we're there, just mill around with signs? Have you ever been to D.C.? It's not like you can just walk over to a restaurant or gas station and ask to use their facilities. If it isn't organized, it will be utter chaos, and if we DO organize it, we'll be scattered to the winds and/or arrested. And what about the groups who already paid for permits for that day? We would be infringing on their time and venue, and no matter where we moved to, the Mall, the Capitol, the Whitehouse, Lincoln Memorial, etc. The D.C. park police will come after us.

Plus, we intend to get Dr. Paul and other Congressmen to speak at the march. He would never attend something that didn't follow existing laws.

I'm not saying break the law, I'm saying that if everyone just "does their part" without any organizers, then the law does not apply.

Whatever they are talented to do. A port-o-john company brings port-o-johns. Concessionists bring their trucks. Musicians choose to set up shop and play. Do it all from the grassroots. Most everyone of us knows thin kinds of things that are needed. so we recruit people for the march who have those kinds of things. Some of them will want to help. The message is, if you see something that needs done, just do it. If we do it from the grassroots, it'll be better anyway.

What a painfully incisive response!

This is the point I was trying to make. Anyone who shows up with a concession stand, or porta potties without a permit number, will be dealt with by the D.C. park police. I've helped organize a rally in D.C. before. The park police are everywhere on horseback, and motorcycles, they will be very aware of who is permitted to do what. And, as I stated before, there will be groups already permitted to be there and we will be demonstrating on their venue that they took the proper channels to get. Again, Ron Paul won't show up for an event that is half-assed and illegal.
Sorry.

"Does their part" as in what?

Not that I am advocating it but the Rainbow family has been gathering in National forests for a few decades..obviously not the same as DC.. and they never designate a leader. Whenever some idiot stepped forward to act as leader they were arrested for not getting a permit. However, as much as the NFS do not like it these people have no leader and have mutually agreed to go camping in the same area over the same time period and that isn't against the law. Conceivably this could be done but you get no logistics\, no stage, no portapotties and a big hassle.

When yer in swivelisation you need to act swivelized and adhere to swivelised behaviour.

Best
Randy
