It'll be funny when Trump lets him go. He'll have willingly imprisoned himself for no reason for 7? years.

I'm not sure that Trump believes that. If he did, he certainly wouldn't admit it.
Also, Trump's own appointees are the ones who have relentlessly pursued Assange and ''determined' that he is not a journalist in order to unlock more powers that they could use against him.

Assange has been arrested in relation to a US extradition request for "conspiracy with Chelsea Manning" for publishing Iraq War Logs, Cablegate, Afghan War Logs, precisely the persecution for which he was granted asylum under the 1951 Refugee Convention in 2012. @unhumanrights
( Ref : How much trust do you put in current President's promises and statements?)Since he frequently contradicts himself his statements can't be trusted at all, you have to watch his actions to even guess about his positions or plans.
Why are you always such a $#@!ing tool??
Do you really think Trump will pardon Assange and give him asylum?
I don't see why not. He has spent more time under self-imposed imprisonment, than he could get at the MAX for the charges filed against him.
And Obama commuted Manning's sentence after 6 years of a 35 year sentence. And manning is the one that did the real dirt.
On the liberty report they said they have arrested Manning as well.
The press has already said that Trump says that whatever happens is up to the attorney general.Completely unrelated issue really. He is under arrest for refusing to testify, right?
Why are you always such a fucking tool??
“I know nothing about WikiLeaks," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. "It’s not my thing."
Trump said he didn't know anything about Assange's arrest and said what happens next is up to the attorney general.
"I know nothing really about it — it’s not my deal in life," he said.
Historically, I'm pretty sure you have to have at least been charged, if not convicted of a crime in order to receive a presidential pardon. I know some have discussed in the past the ability to do a pardon preemptively, but I don't think that would hold up. just saying....

Chelsea Manning jailed for contempt of court
Former Army intelligence officer Chelsea Manning was jailed Friday for contempt of court after she refused to testify in a closed-door grand jury hearing related to WikiLeaks, the site to which she sent classified documents in 2010.
A statement from Manning's legal defense team confirmed that the whistleblower was taken into custody by order of a judge until she testified to the grand jury or the panel was dissolved.

I don't think Assange will be convicted of anything, he didn't break the law.
From "I love Wikileaks!" to "I know nothing about Wikileaks." Always distance yourself from any potential problems. "It isn't me- it is my Attorney General (who I appointed and who reports to me). I barely know anything about Wikileak!"
