Isn't BJ Lawson running for the LP nomination as well? I would support him.
Why do you support Ron Paul?
that doesn't attract me. If that is the direction the Libertarian party goes, I won't be interested.
This is what is wrong in America. Compromise on what you believe or be ignored.
I'd rather see a country that actually chose and chose poorly, than a country where your choice doesn't matter.
Um, you're aware that there's a necessary contradiction between your two answers, right? Anyone capable of building a coalition is an agent of compromise.
To wit - I don't agree with every word out of Ron Paul's mouth, but I support him. I'd wager that 99% of people who support him disagree with him in some way, shape, or form. These individuals all compromise with their individual ideologies in order to support him for office.
Yeah dude, I read it wrong. I read it as RON was about compromising. You can go back to arguing for politicians to compromise now.
Out of interest, do you work for the Libertarian Party?
And you would prefer that politicians simply stand aside and allow statism to run rampant, all in the name of keeping their philosophical hands clean? Politics is compromise. Both for voters and elected officials. If you can't pass your agenda, your agenda is meaningless.
A long time ago I did. Unfortunately, the libertarian party isn't a political party, and has no desire to become one. So I bailed.
I'm pulling for RJ Harris for the LP nominee. He sounds legit!
Compromise is what caused this bipartisan raping of freedom.
Funny how the man with the most conviction is the one who never voted for any of these bad bills that the two parties compromised to create. Ron passed his audit the fed bill by educating voters, he didn't compromise at all. One of the reasons the voters of all backgrounds come to him is his conviction. They are sick of compromise.
I stopped supporting them for moving in the direction you wanted them to. You might feel more at home there now.
Compromise was the tool that allowed this raping of freedom, but it didn't cause this raping of freedom. Unfortunately, politics is compromise. If we seek to use the political system to regain freedom, we'll need to use compromise as well.
The man who seeks to end the fed passes a bill that merely audits the fed. That's compromise. And it worked.
.
Yes, Ron will compromise but only going in the right direction. Incrementalism, possibly, but not letting things get worse. for example, his budget plan doesn't cut social security or medicare, which he sees as contract issues, however, unconstitutional the programs are, but it balances the budget in 3 years and lets kids under 25 opt out. But he would NOT compromise by only raising the spending by X instead of 5X. He won't INCREASE the evil, in whatever category of evil you are discussing.
Humanitarian wars increase the evil, as does NAFTA etc
