Joe Rogan/Spotify Take Down Attempt

Joe Rogan Apologizes After N-Word Compilation Goes Viral: ‘I Clearly Have Fuckeded Up’

Who could not see this coming the day the new contract was announced. None of this smells right. To put it a different way it is like he took a job working for an LGBT company and was surprised when he found out they had a problem with him saying "f a g g o t" many times over the years so they pull those episodes.

It is a toss up which way this is headed.

1. So obvious it is probably bullshit and he may survive due to episodes being pulled and the apology. All forgotten about months from now and over a few years it will be getting Republicans to compromise their values more to the middle left.

2. Spotify fucked up and did not do any research. Rogan will keep apologizing like Imus did and will continue to bend the knee up until public crucifixion day.

3. They simply part ways and he turns up on his own or another platform.

I dont really get the point of saying the "F-word" or "N-word" in place of the real word. Especially if you are simply reading a quotation. It's childish, literally from childhood. If I say or write "N-word" everyone says the actual word in their head. I don't get the point. The only reason I use those words like that is simply so I don't get cancelled. It's silly, but it's the game these days.

Rogan should have taken a stand instead of apologizing. People are ready to back someone. We're sick of this BS. Everyone knows that the only reason this compilation came forward is because some people really want him banned. Most people aren't surprised he said what he said and no it wasn't said with animosity.

In his defense for apologizing, he might be a bit overwhelmed with the constant attacks from every commu-nazi-jackass in the country. The spotlight can get blazing hot sometimes. Rogan strikes me as a stoner who just likes to get along with everyone. He doesn't like this spotlight, which makes the racist claims even more ridiculous.

Oh please, shut the fuck up already...now this is just painful and cringeworthy.

And don't fucking tell what I can say and what words I can us, like I'm a five year old child, especially when there is a daily flood of nigggers calling other nigggers, nigggers for doing dumb niggger shit.

Yup. "Go FUCK yourself" is the ONLY response needed.

F-word, N-word, R-word, any number of bullshit "+-word" = P.C. They can all go FUCK theirselves.

The Washington Post is joining the pile-on (because of course they are): "I'm disgusted by; Joe Rogan's weak apology."

That's called "Black privilege." Nonetheless, Joe Rogan deserves to be canceled, since he wants to apologize to a mob of folks who, most likely, use the "N-word," too, when they think no one is watching nor listening. They don't want repentance; they want his non-existence because he hasn't surrendered his life to the COVID religion.

Spotify CEO's statement.

Read Ek’s full letter to his staff below:

Spotify Team,

There are no words I can say to adequately convey how deeply sorry I am for the way The Joe Rogan Experience controversy continues to impact each of you. Not only are some of Joe Rogan’s comments incredibly hurtful – I want to make clear that they do not represent the values of this company. I know this situation leaves many of you feeling drained, frustrated and unheard.

I think it’s important you’re aware that we’ve had conversations with Joe and his team about some of the content in his show, including his history of using some racially insensitive language. Following these discussions and his own reflections, he chose to remove a number of episodes from Spotify. He also issued his own apology over the weekend.

While I strongly condemn what Joe has said and I agree with his decision to remove past episodes from our platform, I realize some will want more. And I want to make one point very clear – I do not believe that silencing Joe is the answer. We should have clear lines around content and take action when they are crossed, but canceling voices is a slippery slope. Looking at the issue more broadly, it’s critical thinking and open debate that powers real and necessary progress.

Another criticism that I continue to hear from many of you is that it’s not just about The Joe Rogan Experience on Spotify; it comes down to our direct relationship with him. In last week’s Town Hall, I outlined to you that we are not the publisher of JRE. But perception due to our exclusive license implies otherwise. So I’ve been wrestling with how this perception squares with our values.

If we believe in having an open platform as a core value of the company, then we must also believe in elevating all types of creators, including those from underrepresented communities and a diversity of backgrounds. We’ve been doing a great deal of work in this area already but I think we can do even more. So I am committing to an incremental investment of $100 million for the licensing, development, and marketing of music (artists and songwriters) and audio content from historically marginalized groups. This will dramatically increase our efforts in these areas. While some might want us to pursue a different path, I believe that more speech on more issues can be highly effective in improving the status quo and enhancing the conversation altogether.

I deeply regret that you are carrying so much of this burden. I also want to be transparent in setting the expectation that in order to achieve our goal of becoming the global audio platform, these kinds of disputes will be inevitable. For me, I come back to centering on our mission of unlocking the potential of human creativity and enabling more than a billion people to enjoy the work of what we think will be more than 50 million creators. That mission makes these clashes worth the effort.

I’ve told you several times over the last week, but I think it’s critical we listen carefully to one another and consider how we can and should do better. I’ve spent this time having lots of conversations with people inside and outside of Spotify – some have been supportive while others have been incredibly hard, but all of them have made me think.

One of the things I am thinking about is what additional steps we can take to further balance creator expression with user safety. I’ve asked our teams to expand the number of outside experts we consult with on these efforts and look forward to sharing more details.

Your passion for this company and our mission has made a difference in the lives of so many listeners and creators around the world. I hope you won’t lose sight of that. It’s that ability to focus and improve Spotify even on some of our toughest days that has helped us build the platform we have. We have a clear opportunity to learn and grow together from this challenge and I am ready to meet it head on.

I know it is difficult to have these conversations play out so publicly, and I continue to encourage you to reach out to your leaders, your HR partners or me directly if you need support or resources for yourself or your team.

What could possibly be "unsafe" about using a streaming service?

Rogan needs to put down his pot filled peace pipe and become a MMA warrior again.

That CEO is so weak. STFU and get back to work you fucking code monkeys is how the letter should have read.

This shit is a cancerous growth that must be treated.

Rumble Offers Joe Rogan $100 Million Four-Year Deal with Commitment to ‘No Censorship’

Video-hosting platform Rumble is offering famed podcaster Joe Rogan a $100 million deal to leave Spotify and appear exclusively on the upstart YouTube competitor. The offer arrives amid Rogan facing calls from the cancel culture mob to remove him from Spotify over alleged misinformation regarding the Chinese coronavirus, and more recently, his past usage of the N-word during podcast episodes.

“We stand with you, your guests, and your legion of fans in desire for real conversation. So we’d like to offer you 100 million reasons to make the world a better place,” Rumble said in a statement on Monday.

“How about you bring all your shows to Rumble, both old and new, with no censorship, for 100 million bucks over four years?” the video-sharing platform added in its statement. “This is our chance to save the world. And yes, this is totally legit.”

Spotify already has a $100 million exclusive deal with the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. The deal, however, includes the censorship of certain episodes of Rogan’s podcast.

Rogan has been under attack ever since hosting two guests — Dr. Peter McCullough and Dr. Robert Malone — on his podcast, who “have an opinion that’s different from the mainstream narrative” regarding coronavirus-related issues,” he said.

In reaction to Rogan hosting guests with different opinions on coronavirus topics, left-wing rocker Neil Young gave Spotify an ultimatum, demanding that the streaming giant remove his music from the platform if it refuses to blacklist Rogan’s podcast.

When Spotify reacted by announcing it would pull Young’s music from the platform, the rocker called on other musicians to join him in removing their music as well, in an apparent attempt to further pressure Spotify to cave to his demands.

From there, Young was able to get a small cohort of aging rockers to join him in his anti-Spotify crusade, with musicians David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, Nils Lofgren, and Joni Mitchell making similar announcements shortly after.

But when that didn’t appear to be picking up any further steam, singer India Arie — who is perhaps best known for coming out against Rogan — shared a video complication of Rogan using the N-word, sans context.

Now, the focus of the cancel culture mob has shifted to attacking Rogan for his previous usage of the racial slur publicly on his podcast over the years.

On Friday, Rogan responded to the controversy, explaining, “It’s a video that’s made of clips taken out of context of me of 12 years of conversations on my podcast, and it’s all smushed together, and it looks fucking horrible, even to me.”

“I know that to most people, there’s no context where a white person is ever allowed to say that word, never mind publicly, on a podcast, and I agree with that now,” he added.

Donald Trump to Joe Rogan: Stop Apologizing to ‘Maniacs and Lunatics’

Former President Donald Trump offered some tough advice to podcaster Joe Rogan on Monday amid the campaign to cancel him: stop apologizing.

“Joe Rogan is an interesting and popular guy, but he’s got to stop apologizing to the Fake News and Radical Left maniacs and lunatics,” the former president said in a statement. “How many ways can you say you’re sorry? Joe, just go about what you do so well and don’t let them make you look weak and frightened.

“That’s not you and it never will be!” he emphatically concluded.
