Sorry, Man... I couldn't disagree with that take more. Yes, the field was wide open, but I think we're seeing a convergence of the left and right disaffecteds who are starting to see through the bullshit. We can disagree on many major issues, but we all know there's a bigger problem than left/right. That is a good thing. This new media, while it is young, is a good thing. It will become corrupted eventually, but right now, there's an opening window.
I can engage with the Jimmy Dore or Russell Brand audience easily. I don't agree with half their crazy ass political and economic views, but at least we can agree on what's reality. These people have been waking up during all this covid mess. So, we're speaking in the same terms instead of this pretend make-believe world the press wants us to believe. Many times, we even align on their root values. And there's little disrespect when you can agree on values, even when there's wide disagreements on what policies will achieve those values. The political leader who speaks to that will find a broad, however strange, coalition.
