Jimmy Kimmel show suspended after Charlie Kirk comments

If by "significant" you mean "large" or "numerous", then they don't need to be a significant portion of the population.

Oh, thanks for the lecture but I'm well aware. I sat here and watched how they created MAGA. They took a poll which told them about seven percent of registered Republicans thought a New York Democrat and reality show host was their idea of a great GOP candidate for president -- three percent of the population at best. They did the math and figured out that in order to do their usual thing and call him frontrunner they'd have to put seventeen candidates in the race.

Then they gave Trump all the publicity and manufactured a "revolution".

Bottom line back on topic is Kimmel didn't stray over the line much, but he did perpetuate the lie that Robinson was a groyper long after that theory was factually debunked. Now, an entertainment show is generally held to a different standard than "the news", but Kimmel talked politics constantly and never entertained anyone doing it. So, there was confusion about which type of show he was hosting. The government had no business weighing in, but I see why it did. If public reaction didn't get Kimmel cancelled, then we'd have all known that the CIA had created a replacement for USAID and Disney didn't need to give a damn what its customers thought.

So why is Trump trying to mirror Mao ...taking permanent equity stakes in U.S. companies.

Mao confiscated land and property and redistributed it and took control of private enterprises and commercial industries.

All Trump is doing is owning pieces of assets in essential defense industries like we Americans did for hundreds of years all of the way from the revolution through two world wars that we won.

Whats so bad about George Washington?

Have you read his farewell address? He sounds like a pretty good president.

Nothing wrong with a piece of ass...

...ets now and then.

So what's Trump doing owning it? He doesn't pay taxes.

"Trump suggested that broadcasters should have their FCC licenses pulled.

Brendan Carr suggested going after "The View."

And eight years ago, I would have cared.

But after watching my colleagues demonetized, debanked, and deplatformed for quoting Joe Biden, no, I do not care.

And I'm not kidding.

It was frequent that we would get "fact checks" and have to revise our story or face punishment for printing a Joe Biden quote.

The fact check would come after the White House would inevitably "clarify" what he said, and then we would have to print what Biden "meant," not what he said.

And if we did not, no one would see our stories. Any of them.

That is the regime we faced for years.

Spare me your indignation. No, I do not care what is happening to you because you sat by and cheered when it happened to conservatives."

I think the moral argument is that when they are in power they crush us no matter how nice we are to them when we are in power.

So its better to fight fire with fire then to play by different sets of rules and give the democrats a handicap.

How much have Republicans had to suffer through for the last 20 years while they crushed us over and over again using their power?

I can't even put a monetary amount of number to the losses that Republicans have endured.

If this were a baseball game and the democrats were winning 20 to 1 and Trump gets to bat and he is hitting home run after home run and the bases are loaded for him to hit a grand slam and the democrats start saying well we won't win at this rate unless we start shooting up the baseball field and the democrats are blaming the Republicans and saying well if you guys weren't winning we wouldn't be shooting up the baseball field.

This makes me wonder if an inability to use punctuation, and an inability to get to the point, are related?

My analogy was simple.

Its not tyrannical to stop a political party from grabbing power using force just because they lose an election or a political argument.

The democrat party always sane washes these terrorist attacks.

I used baseball as an analogy because I remember when the tea party were getting shot at when the tea party Republicans were popular and winning elections.

Now its the MAGA Republicans that are winning elections and a Big League MAGA Republican leader was assassinated.

I oppose the FCC threatening ABC but not for libertarian or moral reasons. I oppose it strictly on strategic grounds. It’s a bad idea. We were already destroying Kimmel, no need to have the refs cheat now. It only gives the liberal media class a boost of energy.

I would morally and on libertarian grounds oppose the government pressuring a company to fire a comedian for telling a joke, no matter how awful or inaccurate the joke was.

That’s not what this is. Jimmy Kimmel stopped being a comedian years ago. He became a regime mouth piece willingly and knowingly. He is part of the cathedral.

This is closer to the CIA feuding with the FBI. It’s two criminal elements of the regime fighting, both of whom are enemies of liberty.

{Dave Smith | 19 September 2025}

On this episode of Part Of The Problem, Dave discusses his new opinions about Jimmy Kimmel being fired for his Charlie Kirk comments, how this plays into the broader values of libertarianism, and more.

I don't disagree with Dave often, but I think he misses a point here.

I completely agree with the unforced error and having the refs cheat is stupid. But when he starts talking about the censorship being acceptable since this is similar to internal feuding and Kimmel being part of the cathedral, he misses a vital aspect.

He admits that it's arbitrary, but if we accept that as a standard for censorship, then all anyone has to do to silence an opinion they don't like is to craft some rationale that the speech they don't like is "part of the regime" they fashion themselves to be fighting against. It doesn't even have to be a good or logical argument as long as they can get some people to believe it. And they will. Since that gives them a self-justification to censor an opinion they didn't like anyway.

They are just going to do it to us no matter how nice we are to them though.

Call it what it is its a sword fight and they have cut off all of our limbs every single time because we refuse to even pick up a sword.

You can't bring a pen to a sword fight.

They aren't going to put down their swords any time soon. When has that happened at all in the last 100 years?

Hey, everyone. The bot says our God-given rights are gone, and we might as well be playground bullies and take them away from every citizen so as to institutionalize the loss.

The bot says we should give up on shutting the other side down, because leaving a free country for our grandchildren couldn't possibly be as rewarding as hoisting a bunch of obnoxious people on their own petard.

Gee, I might be convinced if it would use even a little more punctuation than a meth addict.

The people with their pens keep telling you its not a sword fight while their friends keep killing you with swords and we keep bringing pens to the sword fights to fight the swords because we can't even believe what our eyes can see and there is nothing to see here.

I would certainly love to leave a country to my family's grandkids but you know THEY let this country get invaded by 100 million people in the last 50 years and its not going to be their country anymore at this rate.

You seem to be functionally illiterate. Nothing in your link says or implies that George Washington confiscated 10% of the Springfield armory. You're conflating the creation of an armory as part of building an army with the government confiscating part of someone's already existing business. What Trump did is textbook fascism and fascism is the economic mirror of socialism.

The link says that it was a federally owned armory that made our guns.

National defense requires guns and Trump is securing our government's access to guns.

Guns don't look like they did in 1777 they require things like microchips.

Its not fascism unless you can't read. Fascism requires a dictatorship.

We don't have a dictatorship because the government has not taken the guns.

Political power comes from who has the guns and the people have the guns in our country.

Right. The link does NOT say it was confiscated though moron! The USPS is federally owned. If Donald Trump forced Federal Express and UPS to give up 10% of their stock to the Federal Government that would be different. You seem mentally incapable of understanding the difference between federal ownership and federal confiscation of private ownership.

It wasn't forced Trump bought 10% of intel.

Intel could have said no ill just give you the money the government is giving intel for 10% back but they didnt.

Stop making up fantasys about the government grabbing power its like you have some sort of domination fetish you are role playing that the government is tyrannical and sharing your delusional role playing with other people.

Intel wanted to sell 10% to the government. They are patriotic and want to support the United States government because its their country too. Its their own government.
