I live in SC and I can say Demint's endorsement would likely propel us to top 2 here. And it would get huge media coverage nationally and make tea party folks rethink their vote.

I'm in, make sure to mention Ron's association with those high profile Evangelicals.

I recommend only contacting him if you are a constituent of his, or a donor to SCF.

I have a feeling Ron Paul will get his endorsement (this doesn't mean we should stop our campaign of calling in on a regular basis for Ron Paul). Rand has been working ALOT with DeMint as of recent and I'm pretty certain Rand has been rubbing off on DeMint. I think I echo the sentiment of most South Carolinians who support Ron Paul in that we stand ready to correct our mistake of voting for McCain and will do all in our power to help Ron Paul win this state. I know I will be out in the Upstate hoping I can make a difference, somehow. People correctly identify that a DeMint endorsement would be huge here in SC as he is wildly popular compared to that "other" senator of ours. This would make convincing social conservatives MUCH easier.

Demint is not going to endorse Paul...perhaps I am too cynical BUT the GOP doesn't want Paul...while Demint has a history of bucking the establishment, he still doesn't completely agree with Paul and SC is an anti-Ron state...unless Demint had a recent change of heart, his endorsement will not be to Paul...I suspect Bachmann or Pawlenty..

Rand has been rubbing off on him. Demint criticized Bachmann and Pawlenty is tanking.

Actually I heard Jim Demint on the Jim Bohannon show the other night. He was plugging his book, talking about the debt ceiling. Bohannon was attempting to marginalize libertarians and DeMint defended libertarians as "reasonable and intelligent." Bohannon mentioned Rand Paul and DeMint had nothing but praise for him and Mike Lee.

I doubt it will be Bachmann. People here need to realize that Bachmann is hated by establishment conservatives as much as Paul. I don't think she has many friends even with top "tea party" Republicans. Palin and DeMint both don't like her.

So much comes down to whether Perry and/or Palin get in the game.

i highly doubt he endorses Ron. He will most likely endorse Bachmann if he endorses early. If it comes down to Ron vs. Romney he MIGHT endorse Ron. (didn't he endorse Romney last cycle?)

I respect Jim DeMint a lot, and I too pray he will listen to what he knows deep in his gut, that Ron Paul is the right man at the right time to get this country back on track.

C'mon, Jim. Make the wise choice. The foundation of your children's and grandchildren's futures depend on it.

She strikes me as a complete opportunist.

I'm a cynic. I hope for the best. But I don't expect it. Educating my neighbors is the only way to wing this. No one in Washington wants Paul.

^ This.

Although, if you are one of his constituents or an SC resident (or know someone who is) and want to contact him you might want to emphasize that Ron was the only top-tier candidate to participate in the South Carolina debate. I remember reading more than one interview with SC attendees/voters who were considerably pissed that Romney/Bachmann didn't even bother.

I think if Paul gets truly competitive, Demint will endorse him; or he'll wait until its clear to everyone Paul has no shot and endorse someone else.
