Jesus doesn't put food on my table or fix my leaky pipes.

It doesn't matter how much I pray my problems don't get solved. Oh yes but it is God's will to have these problems remember Job or Abraham? Maybe I should sacrifice my child. Get real. You work. You provide or you elect to get on a govt entitlement program where your rent is paid & you get heat, food, cell phone & ??? Is that God? What about the child that dies at 3 years of age from cancer? Gods Will?

Jesus allegedly healed a blind person or two but couldn't be bothered with destroying blindness.

One would think that, as the son of God, he knew all about microorganisms. But he didn't even tell us about it.

Did Lazarus die for a second time or did he live forever? Why would Jesus want to spare a man from eternal bliss in the first place?

Your Faith , I imagine , ( if you had it ) is not meant to bear fruit here , but somewhere else , I am no expert in these matters , I believe that Christ is my Savior, I pray, and I also expect that while I am here , I just have to make my own way while I know , I do not have the wisdom to understand everything..... what would I do with it if I did ? Hell , the most entertaining part of this whole painful existance is a bittersweet mixture of good times/bad times /love / rejection , mostly I take solace inthe beauty of the earth , the birds , flowers , seasons, I will miss those when I am gone , no more quail hunting, fishing ,,,,

Who told you Jesus would help you with your problems?

Welcome to Atheism.

I argue that government programs are very much the reason our nation has turned from God. When it is your neighbor helping you out of the kindness of their heart because God has changed their heart...we are the Light. When that neighbor goes to WIC to get that help, God is not present.

I just had a friend lose her 7yr old to cancer this spring. She has the most powerful testimony about a loving God that I've ever heard.

Faith is a personal walk. If you choose to believe He is not there, that's fine. But God is not a genie in a bottle. He's not a sugar daddy waiting to solve every problem in our lives. Sometimes those problems change us into a much better human being. If not, in my experience we keep having the same "problems" until we figure out our part and grow.

Is it not a common practice to give thanks to god for the food you are about to eat? Does that imply that god had some hand in providing it?

Of course he did, he created the earth and all that was provided. He gives you free will, it is up to you to provide the food for your family--but give thanks to him for the food that you have been provided with.

However bad you want to pretend your life is, you obviously prefer it to the alternative.

Are you really ready to stand before a holy God to answer for your sins against him?

It's like a cosmic game show. He creates flawed, sinful flesh and then judges you for being flawed and sinful. As long as he's entertained, I suppose.

We can't put ourselves on some level above God and pretend we're in a position to understand why everything is the way it is.

But when we look at ourselves from the place where we are, we all know we're guilty of sins for which we can blame no one but ourselves. That's why people try to come up with excuses to minimize God's righteousness.

Grow up, seriously. What are you, thirteen? Do you really want God to solve all your problems? I guess the state has finally got what it wants, a bunch of whiny bitches that just want to be taken care of.

Sounds like a lines in the movie The Devil's Advocate:

It can be difficult to understand God's plan, or why bad things happen, as we are not omniscient as He is. But we can just as easily ask why God allows good things to happen. Despite our sins, Christ died so whoever believed in Him would be given eternal life in heaven.

”Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

The christians who are angry maybe can't imagine that there are people whose problems revolve around resources and poverty and survival, and not fear of unknown things, suspicion of the bullshit artists they call teachers and parents, and a general existential and vague loneliness. First world problems.
