Texas 34 is a new seat created by redistricting. It's fairly Democratic but only D+6 and much of the area is represented by Republican Blake Farenthold today.
This area is actually quite conservative despite its routine support for Democrats.

Our best candidate in the runoff is Jessica Puente Bradshaw. She's anti-NDAA,anti-Agenda 21, anti-Federal Reserve and on her facebook page she likes a page that insinuates support for a non-interventionist foreign policy.

Here's her issues page:http://www.texansforjessica.com/issues/

She would be a wonderful addition to our liberty troops in congress. I am still concerned about this district. It voted for President Obama 60-39%.

It's an uphill battle, but I think her libertarian ideas will be good for this district. I hope for the best.

She has just won her run-off! This will be a very uphill battle with the democratic ticket. She will be running against Filemon Vela on November.

She won with about 55%. And I think she is good. Obviously she is trying to pander to the Christian Right in some regards, but on Facebook, she also likes Latinos for Ron Paul and Alex Jones. And her platform is great.

I don't know why other people were criticizing the fact that she was listed as a liberty candidate.

Because there is little to suggest that she actually is a liberty candidate!

Actually, she is a Ron Paul supporter. We are just having problems with the local establishment GOP and Nueces county so we were keeping it on the down low for the Republican primary. Now maybe we can be more open. We need help. She has energized our local Ron Paul group and is helping us find each other.

She is the real deal guys! Like Athan said, we have to play down the RP for her due to local problems. The local gop executive committee endorsed her opponent and she still won. People are seeing through the lies of the local establishment.

We have more people wanting to get involved. Fri night I'm meeting with a group who want to get involved in the local changes and we are spreading out our support. We will do it. We have many more liberty minded RP supporters here than we ever imagined. They are coming out of he woodwork due to Jessica's campaign.

To put it in perspective, our CD elected 3 delegates and 3 alternates to the national convention. Of those, 5 fully support Jessica and 1 supported her opponent. Also, of those 6 elected 2 delegates and 1 alternate (me) support RP.

Things are changing in our area of south Texas!

Huh? On paper she very much looks like a liberty candidate. Now, whether what she has written as her positions, really are, I don't know. But, her issues page is kickass.

See? I got home in one piece Lisa. No traffic incident after the party. Honest.

Jessica does great in debates too. It got to where her opponent refused to participate in forums or town hall meetings with her - wouldn't even answer questions at a meet and greet. Jessica would out do her every time without making personal attacks, all on the issues.

Her position on abortion - and the quotation of Rick Perry is what scared me off in the first place. I understand that, in all likelihood, we won't be seeing any liberty candidates with pro-choice views in Texas. However, this line really pissed me off:
"courts, Congress, science and theology are in agreement that life begins at conception"

Courts? Never. The legal definition of person still does not include ZEFs.
Congress? Definitely not.
Science? This is only half-correct, because science does not deal with the ethical implications of aborting embryos and fetuses, it merely points out that the cells involved are inevitably human. I think this situation is comparable to referring to homo habilis as 'human', despite that species being radically different from homo ergaster, homo neanderthalensis and of course homo sapiens.
Theology? Has she ever heard of separation of church and state?

Perhaps she isn't a Perry drone... but she is a bit like Ted Cruz in accepting establishment support and money.

If you do not accept establishment support and money, 99% of the time you lose. You take whatever support and money you can get.

I was not aware Rand Paul was a member of this site. Hey Rand!

She may be the opposite of say Gary Johnson but look how Liberty members are divisive on him too. You need to understand as those who criticize Johnson that this is a battle for Liberty. We need to send people to congress that will fight for it and damned the petty issues that can be resolved once we have pulled the plug on the thieves that have robbed this country and are after our liberty.

I criticize Johnson just as much. I really dislike the "legal until fetal viability" stance, and I'm not fond of the FairTax. I also don't feel he is strong enough on his anti-war stance, which is why I supported R. Lee Wrights.

but this Jessica Bradshaw is a social conservative - she opposes marriage, abortion rights, assisted suicide - and she supports the racist death penalty of Texas. There's no guarantee she'll keep her religion in her mind like Dr. Paul does.

Do me a favor, clone Ron Paul for every congressional district and get back with me. For now, we finally have a REAL choice in a Liberty candidate in this highly corrupt and apathetic area. Having her as a voice for Liberty would be a godsend to us Ron Paul folks here. I don't think you understand the depths of what you are nagging about. Finally an oasis in the Sahara possibly appears and your complaining about the lack of room service.

I'm 99% sure Ron Paul opposes human cloning, but he might make an exception.

Can we clone Ron Paul from 1988 instead? He was a bit more principled during that time.

and to add diversity, we should also clone Penn (from Penn and Teller), Mary Ruwart and Russell Means.

If she makes a video confirming she is a Ron Paul supporter and voted for him in the TX Primary, I will support her - although not financially.

Great! She sounds almost identical to Ron Paul, since Ron supports the Sanctity of Life Act and Defense of Marriage Act.
