Paraguay officially moved its country’s embassy to Jerusalem on Monday, with President Horacio Cartes in Israel for the ceremony, also attended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Paraguay is now the third country to move its embassy to Jerusalem, following the United States and Guatemala. The inauguration ceremony took place at noon at the embassy’s new home in the Malkha technology park, which also houses the Guatemalan embassy.

Prior to the mass shooting and firing of internationally banned tear-gas at by Israeli military forces, the Ministry of Health in Gaza also announced the 67th Palestinian to have died from their gunshot wounds sustained on the 14th of May Massacre.

A controversial new bill set to go before Israel's Ministerial Committee for Legislation in the Knesset on Sunday
would ban taking videos or photos of Israeli soldiers in the process of arresting or subduing Palestinians.

It's a move that advocacy groups are decrying as an aggressive censorship measure
aimed at banning the documentation Israeli soldiers' human rights violations,
especially as the U.N. Human Rights Council has opened a formal investigation into accusations
that Israeli security forces recently gunned down scores of Palestinian civilians protesting along the Gaza-Israeli border fence.

The legislation, if passed, could result in a punishment of 5 to up to 10 years in prison
for merely recording encounters between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians.

The bill reads,
“anyone who shoots a video or a photo, or records soldiers while they are doing their job,
with the aim of disturbing the morale of soldiers and citizens, will be sentenced to five years imprisonment.
In case this is done with the aim of destabilizing the state’s security,
the perpetrator will be sentenced to ten years imprisonment.”

IDFSpokesperson says Gaza gunfire “supported by Iran.” Unclear what is meant.

The barrage of 28 mortars was fired from the enclave earlier in the day, most of them were claimed to be intercepted by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The Israeli PM, Benjamin Netanyahu, blamed the Hamas organization for the recent attacks, promising to respond “forcefully” to the barrage.

“Israel takes a grave view of the attacks on it and its communities by Hamas and Islamic Jihad from the Gaza Strip. The IDF will respond to these attacks forcefully,” he said during a conference in northern Israel, referring to the Israel Defence Forces.

According to the IDF, following Netanyahu’s statement, the Israeli air forces hit at least 35 targets at the positions of the Islamic Jihad movement in Southern Gaza, which Israel believed to be behind the attack. Later the IDF stated, that the strikes it performed in Gaza Strip were the most powerful for the last four years.

The IDF listed six military compounds, munition storage warehouses, naval targets, and terror headquarters among the attacked targets.

​Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman commented the issue, saying the strikes against Gaza are “only the beginning.”

“Today at midday, we massively and powerfully attacked terrorist infrastructure, including an additional tunnel, across the Gaza Strip. Hamas and Islamic Jihad have already paid a heavy price and the bill has just been presented to them. We have no intention to let it pass,” Lieberman added.

After the activation of the system IDF reported about two more missile attacks from the Gaza Strip, which were intercepted with the Iron Dome air defense system.

During the day the sirens had gone off on five occasions in the settlements along the border with the Gaza Strip — Hof Ashkelon, Eshkol, Sha’ar HaNegev, and Merchavim Regional Councils, the Ashkelon industrial area, and Sderot.

The situation on the border escalated on Monday, particularly after an Israeli tank attacked a militant observation post in response to an attempted violation of the border by two Palestinians.

The violent clashes between Palestinian protestors and IDF on the Gaza border Israel continue since the last March, when a full-scale demonstrations were organized by Hamas. Israel has justified its actions citing security reasons, saying it is defending its borders and blames Hamas for encouraging thousands of Palestinians to break through the border and attack Israelis.

Israeli naval forces have intercepted a Palestinian vessel hours after it sailed off the coast of the besieged Gaza Strip, Israeli media reported.

The boat, carrying 25 Palestinians, was transferred on Tuesday to the Israeli port of Ashdod on Tuesday, according to the Israeli army.

Those on board were attempting to break an Israeli-imposed siege for the first time in more than a decade,

It doesn’t look to be about Israel to me, because in this way, they are actually bringing attention to Israel’s human rights violations in Gaza.

United States authorities have separated thousands of children, including toddlers, from their parents.
Earlier this month the UN urged the Trump administration’s to immediate halt this practice as it violates international law.
The new policy was introduced (around half) April, after Jeff Sessions announced that the administration would start a “zero-tolerance” policy:
Between 19 April and 31 May, 1,995 children were separated from their families;
From early May to early June 2,342 children were separated from their families.
Note that these periods overlap…

Ravina Shamdasani of the UN human rights office said earlier this month, this:

amounts to arbitrary and unlawful interference in family life, and is a serious violation of the rights of the child.
I call on the United States to immediately end the practice of forcible separation of these children.
The U.S. should immediately halt this practice of separating families and stop criminalizing what should at most be an administrative offense — that of irregular entry or stay in the U.S.

She added that the US is the only country in the world that has not ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child, but separating and detaining children also breached its obligations under other international human rights conventions it has joined.

On Monday, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra'ad al Hussein, said about the separation of children from their parents at the US-Mexico border that “inflicting such abuse on children is unconscionable”.
Al Hussein said:

The thought that any state would seek to deter parents by inflicting such abuse on children is unconscionable. I call on the United States to immediately end the practice of forcible separation of these children.
People do not lose their human rights by virtue of crossing a border without a visa. I deplore the adoption by many countries of policies intended to make themselves as inhospitable as possible by increasing the suffering of many already vulnerable people.
