Any idea what is so special about Jefferson County, or the above counties? Why did we do so much better here than in other areas? Was it more attention from the campaign, or does the population have a different make-up from the rest of the state? Maybe there's something that we can learn here and apply to other states.
Because those counties actually have real Americans in them, not warmongering Jesusland corn-subsidy-loving decrepit old wrinkly cold-war commies.
I laughed, I cried.
Jefferson County contains the town of Fairfield which is home to the Maharishi Yoga meditation institute. It's a really cosmopolitan town out in the middle of these rolling hills very pretty. A lot of Mennonites live there also I believe.
Johnson county is where The University of Iowa is and very of which 1/3 of the students are from the Chicagoland area. Eastern Iowa will trend like the the other Big 10 states usually in matters of cultural outlook.
Broad generalizations there but thats my take on it.
