Japan Has Decided to Shoot Down North Korean Missile

I just read that North Korea says the satellite was launched, and that its transmitting data and patriotic music. I'm skeptical of this.

Of course, to the rest of the world, its a long range missle test. Why would it matter? Because, the rocket could then carry any payload, including a nuke.

It may be that North Korea is indeed trying to get money out of the world nations, especially the U.S., just like they did under Clinton and Bush. Under Clinton, North Korea agreed to suspend nuclear work in exchange for food. NK later (under Bush) admitted to have been secretly progressing with the nuclear research, which stopped the shipments, which lead to the talks again, which was to restore aid shipments to NK.

I agree with RP on this, don't give them jack!

If it was just a satellite, North Korea should have just launched the thing straight up into the air. That way, if it comes back down, all KimJI has lost is a few of his serfs.

That is—if they were able to make their missiles go where they wanted to.

It did fail, although at first they lied about it.

Do you make it a habit to believe whatever the state controlled media tells you?

Same people that said Russia just decided to up and invade Georgia, while omitting that Georgian troops were killing Russian citizens in South Ossetia first.

Same people that said Israel wasn't targeting civilians in Gaza and that civilians casualties were minor. It ended up being 66% civilians killed and pending war crimes investigations to sniping old women and young children.

Guess who our "allies" are? Georgia and Israel. Now the US and South Korea (another "ally") say the missile failed and keep up the ICBM rhetoric. North Korea and Russia say it was a successful satellite launch.

The media's spin always reflects what their gov't sources tell them to say in a light most favorable to the gov'ts foreign policy. Given their recent track record Im almost ready to bet someone that North Korea actually got a satellite up. The media doesn't investigate, it regurgitates.

If North Korea's missile is over Japan, I'd say Japan has every right to shoot it down. This will probably lead to bad things though. God forbid China gets into the whole damn thing. But for right now, N. Korea should be allowed to do whatever it is that they want. The classic, good ol' Ron Paul take on things (youtube video elsewhere in this forum). Seriously, Russia is still a way bigger threat to the U.S. than NK.

I haven't seen N.Korea or Russian media sources publish the signal.
This should be an easy thing for them to prove.
