I wonder if he is a company man and this is all just a smokescreen to further the agenda of gun control. Honestly you can't really trust anyone. We already know that the FBI likes to set people up and turn them into terrorists.
I don’t care if they’re licensed legal firearms, people who are not highly trained… putting guns in their hands is a recipe for disaster. So I’ll train our officers that there is a concealed carry law, but when somebody turns with a firearm in their hand the officer does not have an obligation to wait to get shot to return fire and we’re going to have tragedies as a result of that. I’m telling you right up front.
Yea, that crossed my mind as well. While not everyone that is in (or has been in) government LEO service is in cahoots with one another, its not out of the realm of possibility. What he did was completely and utterly stupid, but no different from the asshole Chief of Police in Chicago.

Precisely.
This man has been convicted of no crime that I know of but yet the government has suspended his permit. Let this be an example as to why one should not first ask permission to keep and bear arms.
Logic follows that if you have to ask permission, then it's a privilege, and not a right. Privileges can be revoked at any time for any reason as this case demonstrates.

If true, that is extremely statist behavior. I know TN is a very dangerous place with a lot of crime, but even in TN, most towns of 500 people don't need anything more than 1 part-time cop, at most. There are towns several times that size without cops where I live. This part of the article I find especially interesting:
Yeah, that's all we need, another SWAT team.
In the normative world, this would be a non-issue. In the positive world, Yeager is a fool because though his words SHOULD be a non-issue, clearly they are not from the standpoints of Them.
We ought not have to be careful in such ways, but that is not our reality. Find the ways of saying the same things such that They are given the least toehold by which to act against thee. It isn't right, but neither are these times in which we live.
"Most folks middle America, we'll pay our taxes, just leave our guns alone. And it seems they aren't willing to do that. I am not overly optimistic things are gonna go well," he said.
The government will do anything if the People allow them to do it. The Constitution doesn't authorize gun permits... you don't need one. Gun laws are all unconstitutional... this is why there are states with 'constitutional carry'—recognizing that the Second Amendment is your permit!
