This whole "We've got to stop Bernie Sanders because OMG he's socialist" rings hollow considering republican hypocrisy on social security. Bernie Sanders' "big idea" is single payer healthcare. But social security is a single payer pension plan. When Rand Paul suggested means testing social security a lot of republicans were like "OMG! That makes it a welfare program!" Well duh! That's better than it being a socialist program that everybody has to participate in. Means test it so it won't cost so freaking much.

It should be a very direct message, just as Mises would have put it: national socialism, democratic socialism, communism, european style socialism, and maoism all share the belief that one individual knows more about fairness than the many he or she seeks to control for the "better good", and thus there is a need to control their actions, lives, and resources "for the better good and for their own good". The key is to expose the elitism and the loss of freedom to the elite. Elitism is just another system of serfdom dressed up with modernity. Like placing rose petals on a dung heap... Elitism is just the establishment of another aristocracy with a socialist cloak trying to hide its filth.

Washington had more growth in the number of lights visible from space relative to other areas of the country in direct proportion to the transfer of economic power from the people who produce, to those who spend it in the name of "fairness".

I'm just going to say the following since most of the people posting on this thread have been making arguments far too stupid to be dignified with direct responses:

1. Sanders has no idea how the Nordic countries run their economies, he's far too stupid to even has an elementary understanding of it, hence why Denmark's prime minister told him to shut his idiotic mouth.

2. People who support Sanders are exponentially dumber and more dangerous than people who support Donald Trump, all you need to do is look up the statistics for what extreme left-wing governments did throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and South America, and then compare it to the much smaller death count under supposedly right-wing (it's debatable if Fascism is even a proper right-wing ideology, but I'll say it is for the sake of this discussion) governments.

3. People in the so-called liberty movement who support Sanders and buy into this lame-brain distinction between "democratic socialism" vs. "socialism" (wow, we get to put it to a vote before we screw everyone out of their life, liberty and property. Whoopie!) are even dumber than the college aged numb skulls out there trolling for Sanders, at least these youthful neo-hippies have the excuse of being propagandized for more than a decade into believing this crap. I don't know what any of your excuses are.

Comparatively speaking and from a realpolitik perspective, absolutely. I'm not voting so it's all academic from my perspective, but if people are voting for Sanders, they may as well admit that they intend for this entire country to suffer as Eastern Europe did.

Trump is no knight, he's a control-freak and I have ZERO plans of voting for him, or anyone else running. I was asked if I thought Trump was the lesser evil compared to Sanders and I gave an answer, nothing else should be read into it apart from that. With Rand Paul out of the race, I don't see anybody left worthy of showing up for, end of story.

P.S. - At no point in the entire time I've been on this forum have I ever said anything complementary about Sanders, the guy is an utter fruitcake and should be in a padded cell.

In truth, as reprehensible of a human being as Hillary Clinton is, I could actually entertain a philosophical argument for her being less evil than someone like Bernie Sanders.
