Israeli minister to visit Turkey for the first time in six years

ANKARA, TURKEY (6:45 A.M.) - The Israeli Energy Minister, Yuval Steinitz,
is expected to attend the World Energy Congress meeting in Istanbul this Thursday,
marking his first visit of any Israeli minister in 6 years.

"This is the first visit at ministerial level in the past six years,
and it is the result of the rapprochement agreed upon by the two countries,"
the Israeli Embassy in Ankara stated on Monday.

"The visit is the expression of the great potential that exists in bilateral political and economic relations,"
the Israeli Embassy added.

Steinitz is also expected to meet his Turkish counterpart,
Berat Albayrak, for the first time during his short visit to Turkey this upcoming Thursday.

#Turkey will participate in Mosul offensive: Erdogan

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (1:40 P.M.) - Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, announced on Tuesday
that his armed forces will participate in the upcoming Mosul offensive, despite objections from the Iraqi government.

"The Turkish Army does not take orders from the Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi," Erdogan asserted on Tuesday.

Baghdad has warned the Turkish regime about their illegal presence in northern Iraq;
however, Ankara has dismissed these warnings.

Turkey has repeatedly used the Bashiqa Military Base in northern Iraq
to attack the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK),
while claiming they are training combatants

Turkey has fired hundreds of senior military staff
serving at NATO in Europe and the United States
following July’s coup attempt, documents show,
broadening a purge to include some of the armed forces’ best-trained officials.

In a classified military dispatch seen by Reuters,
149 military envoys posted to the alliance’s headquarters and command centers
in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Britain
were ordered on Sept. 27 to return to Turkey within three days.

Most were dismissed from service on their arrival, arrested and imprisoned,
according to a Turkish military official at NATO
and two farewell letters sent by departing Turkish officials
emailed to colleagues at NATO and seen by Reuters.

One of those letters wrote of a “witch-hunt” of senior air force commanders serving overseas.

In total, about 400 military envoys have been fired so far, the Turkish military official said.
Two non-Turkish NATO staff familiar with the situation confirmed that
Turkish personnel are being recalled but did not have more details.

Although the number of dismissals is a small fraction
of the 100,000 judges, police, teachers and soldiers
to be suspended or fired since the failed coup,
the decision to target some of the most highly-trained staff
in prestigious foreign posts underscores the depth of President Tayyip Erdogan’s purge.

US Commander killed in mysterious circumstances in Tal Abyad

Raqqa Post has learned from private sources
the killing of a US commander in Tal Abyad
which is fully controlled by the Kurdish militias.

The US commander was allegedly shot in the head
and was transported immediately to Ain al Arab/Kobani,
then his body was transported by plane from Mashtanur.

The same sources added that an investigation is underway
by the US Forces Command in Tal Abyad with the Kurdish Unit commanders
about the mysterious circumstances of his killing.

Hundreds of Syrian rebels join the Kurdish-Arab alliance of SDF

A main brigade of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) joined on Thursday
the ranks of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a Kurdish-Arab alliance
that has been fighting ISIS in northern Syria for more than a year.

In a press conference in Hasakah,
the Free Officers Union announced deserting the FSA ranks
and joining the Syrian Democratic Forces.

“We are now witnessing the gradual collapse of the Muslim Brotherhood-linked groups [in reference to FSA]
after their cooperation with Turkey.
Those groups have been fighting the Syrian people on behalf of Turkey.
They’ve been implementing the Turkish agenda in Syria
instead of fighting for the people’s freedom,”.

“From now on we’ll be working together with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)
to continue this revolution against terror and tyranny,” al-Awak said.

“Today’s press conference is held to announce the defection
of a group of military leaders from the Free Syrian Army (FSA)
after deep rifts in the FSA ranks about their agenda.
Those leaders and their fighters, headed by Commander Hussar al-Awak, are joining our SDF ranks,” Silo said.

“This is the largest group of fighters joining our [SDF] ranks,” Silo told ARA News.
“With the presence of those highly trained and professional military leaders and fighters,
the Syrian Democratic Forces will continue its progress
and liberate all areas held by ISIS terrorists.
We are determined to eliminate ISIS on the Syrian soil.”

Battle of Dabiq imminent as rebel forces advance against ISIS in Aleppo

ALEPPO, SYRIA (6:22 P.M.) - The Turkish-backed FSA forces
launched a fresh offensive in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo on Saturday
aimed at capturing the ISIS enclave east of Mare'.

Swiftly, the FSA-affiliated rebels were able to secure
the village of Al-Ghilaniyah, the Kuwaiti Farms, and Arshaf village almost fully surrounding Dabiq,
a site of theological importance to the Islamic State fanatics
who superstitiously believe the site to be the location of a decisive battle
in the end times between the believers and the infidels.

To make matters worse for the IS terrorists,
the Islamist rebels reigned control over the village of Ghayton
only to capture the adjacent city of Sawran after hours of intense clashes.
As it stands, the battle for the symbolic Dabiq is set to occur in the very near future
as the opposition forces have captured most of the surrounding villages
avoiding the aforementioned hilltop until the very end.

It remains unknown whether the terror group will waste its limited manpower
retaining control over a nonstrategic hilltop in the vast Aleppo countryside.
