Is This True????

May 14 2012:

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul issued the following statement to supporters and the general public concerning the continuation of his historic bid for the GOP nomination.

The statement tees up forthcoming information the campaign will release concerning its fruitful delegate-attainment strategy still occurring at delegate-selection events such as state conventions ahead of the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

Below please find comments from Congressman Paul:

“As I reflect on our 2012 Presidential campaign, I am humbled by the supporters who have worked so hard and sacrificed so much. And I am so proud of what we have accomplished. We will not stop until we have restored what once made America the greatest country in human history.

“This campaign fought hard and won electoral success that the talking heads and pundits never thought possible. But, this campaign is also about more than just the 2012 election. It has been part of a quest I began 40 years ago and that so many have joined. It is about the campaign for Liberty, which has taken a tremendous leap forward in this election and will continue to grow stronger in the future until we finally win.

“Our campaign will continue to work in the state convention process. We will continue to take leadership positions, win delegates, and carry a strong message to the Republican National Convention that Liberty is the way of the future.

“Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted. Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have. I encourage all supporters of Liberty to make sure you get to the polls and make your voices heard, particularly in the local, state, and Congressional elections, where so many defenders of Freedom are fighting and need your support.

“I hope all supporters of Liberty will remain deeply involved – become delegates, win office, and take leadership positions. I will be right there with you. In the coming days, my campaign leadership will lay out to you our delegate strategy and what you can do to help, so please stay tuned.

For Liberty,

Ron Paul.”

I was listening to a re-run of today's broadcast of Infowars, and although they are fans of Rand Paul; they mentioned Rand endorsed Mitt Romney while Ron was still in the Presidential race.

Is this true?

I just had a big balloon pop. Until tonight, I did not know that Rand Paul endorsed Romney while his dad (my hero), Ron Paul was still in the Presidential race. Right now I have a big middle finger launched straight up Rand's ass. F'k Rand Paul.
Diane, I understand how you feel hearing this for the first time (unbelievable as that may be!) I was in your shoes in June of 2012 when this took place, and for quite a while longer. But I came to my senses about Rand thanks to many friends here (Gunny, FSP-Rebel, and others) who very patiently kept telling me Rand is the real deal, the best candidate running, and almost as perfect as Ron. I don't know what finally made me see it but I did. I needed to get over that because there were more important things ahead. I hope you can eventually forgive Rand for this too because we don't have much time now....we need to rally behind him now. Ron wasn't betrayed; he's campaigning for Rand in Iowa. We need to help Rand too now. Please stick with us, and stand with Rand.

Ron went so easy on Romney during the debates, it's hard to believe everything wasn't planned ahead of time between Ron and Rand as far as the endorsement went.

This is what happens when folks get their news from a braying ass.

I agree, but I think it happened after the Romney campaign threatened to destroy Ron Paul's name forever if he went on the offensive. Doug Wead wanted to attack him anyway--Ron and the rest had other plans.

Romney knew Ron was the reason Newt, Santorum, Perry, and to some extent Cain were destroyed. Ron's ads along with his debate performances embarrassed the lot of them.

I still think Ron could've won the nomination had he attacked Romney. The establishment had nothing else to throw at us. They would've been finished.

In 2008, the campaign was suspended, but after spectacles of turbulence and contention, such as shutting down the Nevada GOP and officials flat out walking out of the convention when they were doing the vote counts and found that Ron Paul was winning delegates. I was there, I would know. Nevada was not unique as this type of debauchery happened in every state.

In 2012, the big problem was at the National GOP convention, where, despite having met the minimum requirements, they constantly demanded that the minimum requirements were not met, and did not allow Ron Paul to be recognized as a contender for the Republican Party. Basically, the GOP insisted that the people vote for who they were told to vote for.

The requirements were that a "plurality" of states had been won, and at the start of the convention, "plurality" meant at least 5 states, which had since been changed so that "plurality" I think now means minimum of 12 states.

I did attend both of the Nevada GOP Conventions in 2008 and 2012 as a State Delegate, but did not attend the National GOP Convention.

The only part of our Presidential Election process that isnt corrupt might be the very final stage of the election, but everything else is flat out corrupted to the core. I use the word "might" because we still have the Electoral College, and just as with Bush, the popular vote does not matter.

Ron suspended his campaign. Rand endorsed the nominee. People got pissed so Ron's campaign sent another email saying they weren't quitting (AND SEND MORE MONEY PLZ). Then delusional people continued to think Ron was going to be president and that Rand is a traitor.

I'd like to view where he said this, do you have a link?

I heard it Monday also but at the moment do not have time to point you to the exact time in the video. I'm pretty sure it was in the first hour, though.

From the beginning of the 2012 presidential race Rand said he would support the eventual nominee. Once it was realized that Ron was not going to win at convention then Rand endorsed Romney. This is not and has never been a betrayal. Ron supported/endorsed every incumbent Republican in the state of Texas. Politics is a b****. To get almost anything done you have to play ball.

Ron Paul surely gave him the OK, and you should read the posts above yours.

If you don't like Rand, you don't like liberty.

I think it was in May that the chatter started . . . (post above states June 7th endorsement)
Will Rand endorse Romney?
I think he mentioned in an interview with Hannity that he'd support whoever the GOP nominee would be. I think he will, our grassroots will hate it, but it is probably a good political move for him to do it. Flame away.

A couple months later it was great to still see the ole master with the 190 first ballot delegates at the GOP National Convention and
the roll call from Iowa with the win there. Maybe the second year junior Senator from Kentucky figured making some GOPe friends
and honoring a committment could be helpful in introducing legislation or committee appointment ?

Very interesting if he made that commitment to the nominee in the 2010 KY Senate race !
Rand actually made a promise when running for his senate seat that he would endorse the Republican nominee, because voters were concerned that he wouldn't because of who his dad was.

The more I think about it, the more infuriating this is.

This is just blatant disinformation on Alex Jones's part. He's taking advantage of peoples' fuzzy memories of something 4 years ago and harping on an element of truth to support a lie. . . .

promoting some sort of distortion or something (?) - I'll later look at the full tubes

This is your problem. You are getting your information from infowars.

(barely audible ". . . love it"
Jeb : ". . . who you working for, brother ?"
Reporter : " the same people"
Jeb (licking his lips) : "Whaddya mean the same people ?"
Reporter : "Infowars.com"
Jeb : "Infowars.com ? . . . I never heard of it. Is it like a very powerful group?" -lol

The old thread I referenced above has some great comments in mid-May of '12

In my opinion he should either denounce Romney or, at least not express an opinion on the topic.
It's important, because it tells us a lot about who Rand is. I expect some sort of endorsement is politically unavoidable, but I want to see some reluctance and not have the cause of liberty thrown in the back seat.
Solidifying his acceleration into becoming another career politician. oh the irony.
