Followers of Judaism, Christianity, & Islam all talk about how peaceful their religions are. Yes if you are a member of the club. If you are not a member the message is die.

This demand for freedom in human society chiefly regards the quest for the values proper to the human spirit. It regards, in the first place, the free exercise of religion in society. This Vatican Council takes careful note of these desires in the minds of men. It proposes to declare them to be greatly in accord with truth and justice. To this end, it searches into the sacred tradition and doctrine of the Church-the treasury out of which the Church continually brings forth new things that are in harmony with the things that are old.

There are tons of religions that don't advocate killing people. Just about every form of Neo-Paganism, Buddhism, Hinduism (I believe), Christianity, Judaism, etc..

I haven't read the Qu'ran but I don't believe the actual book itself advocates killing.
 
My search for a religion like this is what eventually led me to Quakerism. It's one of the most tolerant and reasonable Christian offshoots around in my opinion, even though there are Quakers who consider themselves Muslims, Jews, and Atheists too. Most of them are quite devotedly opposed to all forms of violence, including institutional violence (i.e. war). Many of them also refuse to swear oaths or pledge allegiance to any government.

not sure myself, I was raised to believe that bullshit and never heard anything near it. I did hear many times that they (non believers) will die either way however that the point is more that us believers will live forever in some amazing yada yada hell just like the damn 50 virgins that those terrorists believe

how sad is our earth right now, many beliefs and most are bullshit and simply telling others how to act and believe.

and finally this verse gives reason for the crusades.

Oh I agree.... taking old testament verses as indicators of Christianity being a violent religion, shows a failure to understand those verses don't have anything to do with Christianity as they were written before Christianity existed.

so how relevant is the OT to Christians?

Why do they oppose homosexuality if OT isn't where their laws come from?
