Is Ted Cruz Going To Run for President?

Ted Cruz is not going to run if Rand runs. He is just keeping his options open and drawing attention to himself, as any Senator would want to do.

I am pretty surprised he was a Canadian citizen though.

From what I read, it's Canadian law. If you are born there, and your parents are not diplomats you are automatically a citizen. I'm sure there's some folks out there that were born when their parents were on vacation in Niagara Falls that are finding out this week that they are Canadian citizens.

Just read it. Wilsonian through and through, yet oddly mention Reagan in it a few times who was almost a textbook Jacksonian. Everyone from Ron Paul to Dick Cheney loves to show off their Reagan credentials.

They mentioned Reagan to make it more palatable to those who support a strong defense even though their blueprint was global military dominance now shrouded as "American exceptionalism".

Fyi..if he does decide to run, Cruz was the #1 college debater in the country.

Oh I know, it's easy to see what they are doing there. Funny to see Forbes on there honestly. Forbes was always more of an economic interventionist.

Yeah, for all he did, Ron lived in a bubble politically. On this issue, he is wrong.

Or, maybe he lives in the real world. I happen to agree with Ron on this....regaining liberty will take nothing short of a revolution. Trying to do it incrementally will put us into a "one step forward two steps back" situation. I feel strongly about this.

I'd support an ideological revolution. However, the numbers are not in our favor. So in the mean time, I'm not going to sit on my hands waiting for the revolution, instead I'll stick with the strategy that Rand and his allies are employing.

I'm not suggesting we should "sit on our hands" nor am I suggesting that we should reject Rand's strategy. I just don't put too much hope into it, that's all.

Well I am a realist. Right now, this is what we have to work with. And as long as I continue to involve myself in these affairs, I'll keep moving with the strategy in play. I don't put much hope in a revolution ever occurring, particularly because even among the people today that would support it, there are differing opinions and differing degrees of importance on some issues.

I don't see anything in your statement with which to argue, I just don't put too much faith in the success of incremental restoration of liberty. That said, of course we have to work with what's possible. It is what it is.

The next revolution will be a revolution.
