Is it possible Fox and other media outlets are secretly burning Romney and Perry out?

Now, my greatest instinct tells me that Fox and the rest of the media outlets are in the pockets of Perry and Romney with the coverage they've been giving. However, with all the instigating going on, getting those two to spar and make fools of themselves and each other, I wonder if it's possible that they're actually trying to get these guys to burn themselves out. I know it may be COMPLETELY improbable, but things are looking kinda funny these days. All I know is that Ron Paul is growing stronger and stronger with all this.

Jon Huntsman is someone who could effectively replace Romney, in my opinion. I'm not sure what FOX is up to, but I think they are still trying to spin that it's Perry and Romney in the top tier, even after this terrible blunder of a debate for Perry.

I think the media's desperation to make it a "two man race" backfired on them tonight. They clearly wanted these guys to throw some intellectual punches at each other, but Romney and Perry turned it into a teenage girl fight with hair pulling and cat clawing.

In my opinion they made each other look like buffoons while the MSM is left doing a face palm. :D

Perry: "My book has more pages than yours."

Romney: "No it doesn't!"

Perry: "Yes it does."

Romney: "Well your book has HPV."

Romney: "Yes it does."

They both were very unimpressive tonight. The only way I can see FOX benefiting from this is if they already know Palin is going to run. Who would they be pushing otherwise?

No. I don't think FOX is secretely burning Perry and Romney out. I think they are doing it to themselves.

They're hedging their bets. As long as those two are kept in the spotlight, one will eventually come out on top. It's in their best interest.

Debate after debate, it's clear that Perry and Romney are losing support and the guys in the media keep pushing the cat fights. They're helping these guys look like garbage.

From my relatively brief (5 years) time in the news business I can assure you of one thing: stations don't collaborate on anything. They generally hate one another, especially around sweeps time. It's as ridiculous as suggesting Iran collaborates with al Qaeda: yes its reasonable and believable, but in reality they're on opposing teams and it's actually pretty cut-throat, nasty stuff.

With Perry and Murdoch having dinner together its quite obvious who Fox is trying to get elected.

And that toolbox, Frank Luntz who can't stop saying Perry will continue to be the frontrunner. I hate that prick.

The Establishment is imploding. Lying takes it's toll on the subconscious, and it's wearing these whores out.

Oh yeah I don't argue that, but that's campaigns coordinating with news outlets, not news outlets coordinating with one another. Sure they get their talking point from the "insiders" aka establishment, but they definitely are more competitive than cooperative by a long shot.

The debates have very successfully exposed each of these candidate's hypocrisy. The way they talk and conduct themselves shows them up for who they are just as much as the digs they are getting in about each other. Romney may have memorized "tea party" sentences, but he obviously can barely force himself to choke the words out. He sounds unnatural. Who REALLY believes he is going to repeal Obamacare? It is just like Obama saying he was going to bring our troops home. And Perry's glee and pride in overseeing executions contradicts that he spent all those dollars for "dream education" and mandated vaccines because of his big heart.

No matter how much the media tries to shove either of those men down our throats, the more people see of them, the less I think people will like them.

Just what we need, 10 people on the stage. 11 once Palin jumps in. That will leave Ron with about 2 minutes of speaking time!

not really...

Once Cristi takes the stage, they will have to substantially narrow the field or else the stage will collapse
