Is it possible Fox and other media outlets are secretly burning Romney and Perry out?

Now, my greatest instinct tells me that Fox and the rest of the media outlets are in the pockets of Perry and Romney with the coverage they've been giving. However, with all the instigating going on, getting those two to spar and make fools of themselves and each other, I wonder if it's possible that they're actually trying to get these guys to burn themselves out. I know it may be COMPLETELY improbable, but things are looking kinda funny these days. All I know is that Ron Paul is growing stronger and stronger with all this.

The media didn't plan of them making fools out of themselves. But, they are prepared in the event the two "top tier" candidates self destruct, I think you will see Santorum come from low single digit polling to the new "frontrunner." Some extra warmongering would turn a lot of support his way. Its still early and a lot could happen. I agree, the more they sling mud at each other the better Ron Paul does in the polls!

From my relatively brief (5 years) time in the news business I can assure you of one thing: stations don't collaborate on anything. They generally hate one another, especially around sweeps time. It's as ridiculous as suggesting Iran collaborates with al Qaeda: yes its reasonable and believable, but in reality they're on opposing teams and it's actually pretty cut-throat, nasty stuff.

not saying they collaborate, but i suspect a lot of their stories come from a common source. I don't work in news, but I've watched enough to know its the same spin and same manipulation coming from the different stations.

I think its just an unintentional consequence, because the more you focus on those two, the more truth about them comes out. But i also heard that "GOP voters" are expecting Chris Christie to join the race now, since they are fed up already with the Romney-Perry show. Unfortunately they are not able to see Ron, because the media is doing its best on the front !

Just what we need, 10 people on the stage. 11 once Palin jumps in. That will leave Ron with about 2 minutes of speaking time!

I don't mind seeing Ron with 2 minutes of speaking time as long as the other 10 candidates are cannibalizing each other. This way Ron always wins and comes out squeaky clean. :)
