Is anyone else horrible depressed about all this Syria nonsense

I dunno, I'm kind of encouraged by this. I see some real serious divisions starting to develop in the previously monolithic pro-Obama camp. His actions over Syria are so ridiculously similar to Bush and Iraq, that a good number of those who frothed at the mouth over it back then can't quite bring themselves to be complete and total hypocrites when it is pushed in their face like that. It really is as if this was almost crafted to taunt that faction of the Democratic Party, it's so spot-on perfect a parallel. Many of them are being brought face-to-face with the truth of Obama being Bush III and aren't liking it at all.

I see all over my facebook feed people buying the establishment's pro-war arguments hook line and sinker. My counter posts are completely ignored. No replies, no comments, no likes. It's like I'm talking to a wall.

I point out the similarities to the lead up with Iraq. I point out the questionable data on the chemical weapons. I point out the danger to our troops going to another quagmire. I point out that bombing =/= humanitarianism. I suggest offering asylum to refugees instead of going to war, if we want to be humanitarian. I point out my personal experience as an Army Officer Iraq Veteran. etc ad nauseum! I can't make any headway!

I'm sensing the exact opposite. It's like no one believes this crap anymore. And don't forget the latest polls where about 90% of the American People are adverse to intervention in Syria. Your Facebook Friends do not seem to accurately reflect this fact. Look at the comments under Jennifer Rubin's latest anti-Rand editorial. I have never seen such a slaughtering of a writer's opinion. About 19 out of 20 comments excoriate her. Britain helped us out (in fact, the British Parliament has cited the bogus intel from 2003 as part of their reasoning). Rand put out some great talking points. And now Obama looks like a deer in the headlights comedic figure. I think this situation has been a net positive for sure. And we'll likely improve our position markedly over the next several weeks and months. Having Rand positioned with high profile media access is a powerful asset for us. Rand really drives the narrative now in many areas.

You are exactly spot on.

I haven't talked to anyone who is in favor of another war in Syria. @ i've been bringing up the topic all week. Pretty impressed that folks in my vicinity recognize the drumbeat war propoganda & are not buying any of it.

You will know they are about to call a strike when they start claiming Assad was behind the 9/11 attacks. That would signify "full GW" status.

Americans have much too slow of a learning curve.

We've already determined that Saddam Hussein was behind the attacks!

Here is a pick me up.....if China stoped lending us money due to a attack on Syria what would happen to our economy?

I fail to see a correlation between Chinas extending credit and our government creating digitized dollars to fund wars...

When the oil quits flowing there'll be trouble..

Boobus might get a tad upset if his supply of Tai-Chi crap is interrupted but that'll most likely cause him to scream for a bigger war machine....

the Spice must flow, and without an world-wide emperor to appoint a new ruler of Arrakis, the ruling houses will begin a game of thrones for that control of that spice.

I only have two people other than me talking about Syria on FB, one is like me and knows what's goin on, the other is a 'red team good!' all the way and is salivating for us to bomb some brown folk. I tried pointing out that we're actually helping Al-CIA-duh, seems that killing brownies takes precedent over who we're actually bombing on behalf of.

I too am lucky that all my page seems to be against it and in articles most commenters seem against it.
