Is Abortion Torture?

Oh I almost forgot to mention: Abortionists have demonstrated time and again a willingness to set aside anything else for the sake of abortion including many causes that liberals love so much (much to their embarressmant). Planned Parenthood has repeatedly been caught breaking various laws, occasisionally killing patients, accepting money to target black abortions, and discarding human remains (which isn't exactly environmentally friendly). Abortionists also have been known to kill babies that are accidentally born alive during "botched" abortion attempts.
So yes, once you get over the shock of killing a baby in the womb, then pretty much anything else immoral, whether legal or not, seems inconsequential in comparison.

I certainly will not support an illegalization front, but have no problem supporting ideas that reduce aborions in a non-criminal manner.
It takes more than ideas. It takes action.
1. Contribute money or time to crisis pregnancy centers. Check out Heartbeat International or one of their hundreds of affiliates for example.
2. Make sure everyone you meet who might be susceptible to abortion knows that there are ALWAYS better alternatives to abortion. Memorize the phone number for the option line: 800-395-HELP which will help people in crisis pregnancies.

The death of unborn children due to despair of their mothers is a crime that calls for more than just ideas. It calls for action. Naziis weren't defeated by merely sharing ideas and abortion won't be defeated by ideas alone either. (And no I am not advocating violence).

Where do you stand?

Who wants to make a bet that a majority of PETA supporters are pro-choice?

Slaughtering or unethical treatment of animals = bad
destruction of a human fetus = completely permissible ;):D

A fetus has a complete dependency of a host
And a passenger is completely dependent on the driver or pilot. It give no right to the driver to kill the passenger.

Well first off, it is a government issue. The point of government is to promote justice. Since the taking of innocent human life is unjust, the government must make it a "government issue" as you call it.

Government issues are always what we make them. There's no real predetermined government issues. If we didn't exist neither would they.

I don't know if you have had the opportunity to talk to a woman who has had an abortion or read their stories. Abortion profoundly casts a deep despair on many men and women. The willing act of killing one's own child does not come without immense guilt and grief that simply does not go away over the years. It sows depression, anger, mistrust, sorrow, and many other problems. The American Psychological Association denies that abortion causes any emotional problems. People carrying these burdens are told "It's no big deal", or "just forget about it". But they can't forget. These problems manifest themselves in suicide, divorce, workaholism, alcoholism, drug abuse, sex abuse, and pretty much every other possible coping and escape mechanism. Many women say they just "want the pain to stop" and don't care how. Go look up abortion recovery if you don't believe me; there are many resources out there.

I don't need to read stories. I personally know of people who have gotten abortions. I certainly wasn't close enough to have a talk with these girls on the emotional responses they had or may be having. But I knew them well as people. The problems you listed could happen for a multitude of reasons. You'd have a hard time proving to me how making abortion illegal would correct any of the problems you listed.

Heck making abortion illegal may make a girl jump off a bridge, stab herself, commint suicide, become homicidal, drink alcohol, abuse drugs.

There may be resources out there but they are not the only ones. Situations aren't inherently good or bad. They are what we make of them. In all honesty I see more bad than good when compared to the otherside of the argument.

This is really a case of calling out for vengeance rather than criminally indicting a threat to humanity.

The pro-life tactic is a failed stance. You may not believe me, but hey whatever. Keep going with it let me know how it works out. In the meantime if you come up with any ideas that aren't about vengeance and divine retribution let me know. I may be willing to support such a stance.

People who can justify abortion as okay can then say "well if killing children is okay" then why not lying, cheating, stealing, etc. Men who shirk their roles as protectors of women and their own children then turn to view them as objects to be used and abused.

People can do a lot of things. While doing one thing can certainly lead to another, those combinations are so intertwined it's not even funny.

“I can prove anything by statistics except the truth” - George Canning

Now imagine this times 50 million. That is the problem we face in our country today. The social and economic costs are extraordinarily high. I should note that minorities, especially blacks are targets for the abortion industry. I can't say abortion has been a benefit to them.

You sure about that. About 300,000 abortions happen a year that do not include rape, incest, or a threat to the mothers life. That's about .1% of the population. If that small of a percent is reponsible for all that you just said yo're going to have to show me the money trail.

Here are a couple of proposals to instantly reduce the number of people involved in the debate:

- Men shall have absolutely no say on abortion.
- Women shall have absolutely no say on circumcision.

:) ;)

Whites shall have absolutely no say on "Black" issues (affirmative action, hate crimes, Popeyes).
Blacks shall have absolutely no say on "White" issues (bottled water).

Atheist shall have absolutely no say on "God" issues (eternity, omnipotence, absolute power)
And theist shall have absolutely no say on "Star Trek" issues (Spock, Bones, Pavel Chekov)

lol. I could live with that.

The people should have no say over God.
And God shall have no say over the people.

The people should have no say over God.
And God shall have no say over the people.

Unless, of course, God created them, in which case your statement would imply tremendous false pride by the people.

Bman:

Well in my case I do have first hand experience. Girls and women may very well attempt to hide the pain of the abortion, but it is there all the same.

The problems you listed could happen for a multitude of reasons. You'd have a hard time proving to me how making abortion illegal would correct any of the problems you listed.
But what is interesting is that the women who have had abortions state that it is the abortion that is causing them the emotional pain.

The 50 million number is from the abortion industry. This is the total number of abortions that occurred in the USA since 1973. There are about 1 million abortions annually now. Nearly all are elective in nature.

This is really a case of calling out for vengeance rather than criminally indicting a threat to humanity.
I have no idea what you are talking about. I never suggested vengeance, but compassion. And I did suggest some things that you can do now to help reduce abortions that do not involve govt at all

I originally started my reply and had to step away from the computer. After finishing it and posting it I saw you had in the meantime posted the newer message.

Thank you.
