In doing a quick google search, I get the impression that Iran's oil bourse was using Euros starting back in about 2005, so did it not happen until now?
And did you sleep through all of Dubya's and Cheney's warmongering and sabre rattling at that time? That was during the summer, was it not?

All in all, I find it extraordinary what a positive impact euros and gold have on their nuclear program, and how much the petrodollar slows it down. Every time they seem content with accepting dollars for oil, their nuclear program magically ceases to be a threat of any kind.
Check also just when the two times Iraq and Libya threatened to drop the Petrodollar and what happened each time. Ian Fleming had a saying for this sort of thing: Once is happenstance; twice is coincidence; three times is enemy action. We're over half a dozen...
