I don't understand how to read the 2nd choice numbers. Ron Paul 10%, Romney 11%, and gingrich 12%? There's only about 55% total. Where's the rest of it? Also, I wonder if they're overrepresenting the independent and never before caucused vote.

This is exciting, but it's not over till it's over. Paul needs a big $6 Million Day Dec 16th. That'll get him a lot of free publicity and people and destroy the "unellectible" meme for people on the fence about him right now.

I can tell you from experience that a lot of people refuse to give a second choice -- their second choice is "undecided" or "wouldn't vote"

Nah. Paul's just been a warm, likable guy lately. He's visited the state many times, fielded a lot of questions, and shaken a lot of hands. Voters are getting to know him and his character and genuine kindness set him apart from Mitt and Newty.

So, if Romney's and gingriches negatives go down even a point or to, Paul could have the highest 2nd place showing. which will boost us even mrore. Because I know there's a point where if the support in a particular county for a certain candidate is too low, they don't have any chance of getting a delegte, so the person would then choose a 2nd choice so they at least have some say right?

If Paul's really at a statistical tie for 1st and 1st in 2nd place, this is pretty much a dead heat.

He came off very likeable at the debate, warmer. His principled answer about character being somethng you determine by how people live their lives, in their marriage but allso in adhering to their oath of office, and his quip that medical school was less financially deprived than when he worked his way through college because he was married and he 'had HER work both of our way through medical school' were charming, and picked up on by some evangelicals such as Steve Deace. Also, I think the campaign has been sending out their cook book. Also, maybe they are finally getting it out there that Ron's cuts don't hit senior entitlements and just tranfer funds for the safety net to the states, etc.

Whatever it is, I like it!

My only worry is that our support hinges on the youth, and people who haven't voted in the caucuses before. This is typical an unreliable voting block.
