Invasion USA

My central air conditioning went out on 11JUN. Unit needs a new compressor. They're scheduling five weeks out, cuz about a third of their field personnel have (shall we say) self-deported. I have a warranty with this outfit, but every other HVAC shop here is in the same dire straits. They have openings but no one is applying.

I bought three window units to bide me over, but they're blowing circuits on me if I so much as turn on the toaster or microwave
Got some more information today. They haven't been able to get the required parts for my A/C unit. Guess where most A/C components come from (inside US or outside US). I'm not talking about assembling, just raw parts. Guess what the distributors for A/C parts haven't been ordering due to the uncertainty of tariffs.

And we're in a heat wave.

My A/C company received, today, over 1,000 calls for "no air conditioning output". That number is because the A/C companies people usually rely on aren't delivering (and to be honest, either can the company I have my warranty through).

Is America Great yet?

Make sure to stay plenty hydrated.

Extra cold ice water always helps.

I lived in a desert my whole life it sucks when your AC breaks.

It happens a lot here HVAC is good work and pays really good for a reason.

I have worked a few weeks at a job full of hundreds of hot computers and the ac broke one summer.

Walking into that building was like going into an oven.

We had floor to ceiling windows and it was 110 outside and much hotter inside.

You know how when you get in your car in the summer and when you touch the seat belt it burns you because of the windows. It was that hot.

Grocerys was 50% cheaper for me this month. Its like 2019 prices. Even the FED could lower rates. America is great. It was great before but its great now too.

Sure was stupid to let all that manufacturing capacity go overseas, wasn't it?

I guess we should bring it back by ending free trade.

But you'd probably tell a bedridden hospital patient to skip the physical therapy and continue to waste away in bed because the therapy involved some pain.

We definitely need more ICE.

Nope, not clear at all.
I'm sure, to you, it is not clear, just as I am sure, to me, it is.

We both have very different views of what a nation is defined as or what its properties are, or, as I have argued many times with my good friend @PAF , should a nation even exist.

I think I have made it very clear where I stand on this issue.

So, how do we reconcile this?

Assuming we CAN reconcile this, before all us of being washed away in an unwholesome flood of migration, comprised of people that do not care, do not know and could not give single a fuck about Western ideas like "The Rights of Man", property rights, Magna Cartas, due process and so on.

So, how do we reconcile this?
I don't think the two positions are reconcilable. I suspect the politicians will eventually come up with a compromise that won't satisfy either of the polar opposites but will expand the ability of US employers to sponsor as many employees from foreign nations as they see fit. But the only solution that won't require a bio-metrically linked national identification system will be the one that PAF and I support. Choose your evil down the slippery slope.

This is why the right of separation/secession - exercised in conditions under which no mutually-tolerable compromise can be found - is a necessary element of any polity that manifests genuine liberty. (Too bad we don't have one of those - so someone's ox is gonna get gored ...)

We change our government all the time.

The right to Succession exists when you have a tyrannical government.

If they try to take your free speech and your second amendment and you have no recourse to restore it then sure.

You dont get to do it because you lost an election and you dont like the election results.
