There is a caveat to that.

Secretary of State Wes Allen announced Tuesday that he is instructing all county boards of registrars to purge 3,251 potential noncitizens from Alabama voter rolls.

Allen has repeatedly questioned the possibility of noncitizens voting in Alabama and says repeated requests for assistance from the federal government have gone unanswered.

“I have been clear that I will not tolerate the participation of noncitizens in our elections,” Allen said. “I have even gone so far as to testify before a United States Senate Committee regarding the importance of this issue. We have examined the current voter file in an attempt to identify anyone who appears on that list that has been issued a noncitizen identification number.”

Not all of the voters are necessarily noncitizens today; Allen noted that some of the individuals may have become naturalized citizens since they were originally issued the noncitizen identification number. The process initiated by the Secretary of State’s Office will allow those naturalized citizens to update their information on a State of Alabama Voter Registration Form and, once verified, vote in the state’s elections.

So we're talking 3,200 out of 3.8 million registered voters and we don't know how many of the 3,200 were already naturalized citizens Anti Federalist.

Ain't it odd that he repeatedly requested "assistance" from the Federal Government :mouthopen:

Very sad indeed. Perhaps she will look to the root cause, and in her effort to stop it, she will not cheer on implementation of a nationalized police-state and suspension of Posse Comitatus which the "other side" is hell bent on doing. It really doesn't have to be left-right-march-in-lock-step.

Businesses need AFFORDABLE labor for profits. The sticking point here is "how much profit?" There is a level of profit where all players win. Business owners walk way with money in their pockets and workers do the same while being able to live a decent life.

But that formula is long abandoned.

Maximizing profit does not perforce mean squeezing as much as one is able because the reductio ad absurdum of that logic is the killing of the goose laying your golden eggs. The concept of "enlightened self-interest" was tossed into the shit-can long years ago and we are now reaping what we then sowed, and the harvest is meager and shitty.

One does not have to be a filthy communist or other brand of economic reprobate and retard to take a view to treating his employees well, in which case everyone wins.

There is, however, a vastly complicating factor in all this, and it is one that gets nearly zero air-time: "government" interference in business operations. The manifold and wildly wrong-headed mountains of statutes, regulations, and dog-pile policies that strangle businesses often force owners to take measures in order to be able to continue DOING business. Those measures often impact every aspect of the business in highly negative ways, not the least of which are wages.

For example, Johnny's $65K salary is not the sole cost to his employer for Johnny's contributions to the business. The rule of thumb is that the total layout an employer must cough up is 3x the salary, meaning that Johnny's real cost to his boss is in the neighborhood of $200K per annum. We need to get "government" the hell out of the business of interfering with business. All the ostensible good intentions cut no muster when the result is ever greater drag on businesses, resulting in economic rot for everyone, save perhaps the few at the top who don't give a shit, 99% of them being members of Congress.

The solutions are simple, but we have no will to undertake them because the people we elect are a raft of shit-eating scum who should be given the Che Guevara treatment.

The problem is we're using government force to try to achieve this. All that does it add to the cost of doing business.

I totally agree. The US used to be the leading exporter of manufactured goods AND have the highest paid employees.

Agree. There is nothing inherently wrong with profits or revenue. But there has been a massive change in our society over the past 50 years. Whereas "enlightened self-interest" used to be the norm, now being "in charge" comes as a license to steal. Squeeze the workers, squeeze the customers as much as possible, and the CEOs and executives run off with the loot. The "greed is good" philosophy, another one of those counter-intuitive and counter-productive libertarian-style catch phrases, was taken far too literally.

I'd have to guess that the Wall St. corporatization of America is part of the problem. When businesses were run by actual owners, they cared about the business, their workers, and the community. Now a business is something to be acquired, stripped of it's assets, and if there is any desire at all to keep the business in operation, move operation overseas to a cheaper and more complaint labor pool.

This extends to government. Government wants "profits" in the form of revenue and money printing. When greed is good for government, that means more taxes. And the greedy CEO analogy rings true. One need look no further than the Obamas to see how being put in charge is a license to loot.

And the end result is the Marxists and communists (who are the worst of the greedy looters), rant about billionaires and claim they will save us. Bernie Sanders introducing JB Pritzker comes to mind as the hypocrisy is in your face, but the ignorant masses still don't see it.
