Introduce yourself! Who, What, Where, Why!

Hi everyone, my name is Travis. I'm a market anarchist from BC Canada and I'm a big fan of the Ron Paul revolution! I just have to say you Americans are an inspiration and are doing some amazing work here.

I learned about Ron Paul long ago on my journey becoming a market anarchist. I was introduced first to libertarianism by the Ludwig Von Mises Institute and then eventually its connection with Ron Paul. It wasn't long after that I took up economics and finance at University to learn how incredibly wrong everything I was being taught was. I think he's an incredible man with amazing principles. Although I believe I take his views on the free market to their logical consequence and believe courts/police etc are still equally socialism, I can't help but get excited about all that's going on.

I've always held that the state would just continue being a mess and eventually implode, somehow leading us to stateless society, so whenever a bad politician got in it was, in a strange way, a step in the right direction. But I can't contain my excitement when there is actually a politician who speaks candidly about abolishing the federal reserve! I mean, who says that? I love it!

As a former stockbroker and now full time daytrader, I cannot begin to explain the damage the federal reserve does. Not only does inflation completely erode one's buying power, but it has the effect of forcing people to go invest on this ridiculous poker game called the stock market. A free market stockmarket has little in common with the incarnation we have now. It's really a sad state of affairs. The stock market is not efficient, it's simply a bunch of saavy investors robbing buying power from those who do not know how to protect it. Those who are forced to invest because their money goes to shit in their bank accounts. And we know who these people are, these are the working classes, middle and poor. They don't know how to keep up with inflation with this ridiculous stock market game, and it's sad that the government forces them to face off against the most savvy investors in the world who specialize in market manipulation.

I run a blog www.travissteward.com talking about daytrading, austrian economics and general investing from a Canadian perspective.

Anyways, it's good to meet you all and keep up the amazing work!

Introduction!

Who: Voluntaryist
What: a 28 year old anarchist and atheist
Where: Los Angeles
When: RIGHT NOW!
Why: Cause when forced into handcuffs, I will opt for the ones with the fluffy liner inside.

But seriously, I want to end the war, end foreign miltary commitments, put the dollar on a real standard of value, and push this country towards the most extreme and radical version of libertarianism possible.

If anyone is courious, you can take a look at my blogs:

Hey all,

My name is Kenneth.

I live in Texas.

I am currently a member of the Libertarian party. I will vote in the Republican Primary in Texas next year.

My profession is a programmer/analyst.

I participated in both the November 5th money-bomb, and the November 30 fundraiser today. I had registered for both. I am also registered for the Tea Party on December 16.

I support Ron Paul for his views on Liberty and Freedom. I support a Non-Interventionist Foriegn Policy. I would love to see a reduction in the size of government in the USA. The soundness of the Dollar is a real concern to me and I feel that Ron Paul's views are literally RIGHT on the money. I agree with Dr. Paul in that the size and power of the Executive Branch has greatly exceeded the amount of power that the founders intended for it to have.

I am excited about the prospects of a Paul presidency. I have Slim Jims displayed in my personal office area for my coworkers to review. I have Ron Paul bumper stickers on my Pick-Up Truck.

I deeply appreciate the work that all of you are doing for this cause. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of it.

Hello,

My name is Mike. I'm a UNIX systems administrator from Seattle, WA. I'm formerly a Democrat, and am drawn to Dr. Paul because he is the only candidate I trust to repair the damage that has been done to our Constitution. I'd like to see a dramatic reduction in the size of our government, and a return to sound fiscal policy. As a liberal I disagree with Dr. Paul on many social issues, but I feel the restoration of our lost liberties and privacy is far more important.

Hi, I'm Patti, a 46 yr. old from Oklahoma. I'm here mainly to garner information and ideas about Ron Paul, his message and his supporters so that I in turn can spread them to my family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. I've been a supporter for a while but am just now becoming proactive.

Politically speaking, I have been extremely unhappy with the direction our great nation is going. I am directly touched (as we all are) by the policies of our government. I have honorable friends and neighbors fighting in Iraq that I want home. I have a minimum amount of job security as more and more of the work I do is outsourced overseas. I live in a state (OK) and work in a state (AR) which are both being affected economically by illegal immigration. I live where people and legislators have been fighting to prevent the extension of the Trans-Texas Corridor - the "imaginary" NAFTA superhighway. I am also deeply worried about the erosion of our civil liberties!

I am a working class hero! :) I work for an electronic publishing company similar to West or Lexus. I am responsible for updating and maintaining a handful of states' legislation and acts databases.

I spend a lot of time on computers! I love digital photography and computer art. I have several image editing programs that I like to play with (photoshop, elements, paint sho pro, corel painter, etc...)

I have been a lurker here for a long time. I make it part of my daily routine to read this forum to keep myself informed. I don't really know if I will post too much, but I would like the opportunity to speak out if I feel the need.

I love and appreciate the outpouring of support Ron Paul receives here! Whenever I'm feeling down, I can always count on this forum to lift my spirits and boost my morale.

Hello from Phoenix. I become aware of the doctor back in 1997 when he came back to congress. I didn't know why the media called him Dr. No so I did research on him and liked him since.

When I found out that he was running in March I was floored and started telling everybody and anybody.

Hello

Paul here in Cobb, Ca.,

Why I'm here? I have to say economics for the most part. Other issues include the direct assault on our rights as Americans! We need to take back our government!

Paul

Hey everyone, Kevin from MO.

Here for the message and the political awareness he's causing people of my generation to have (college students).

Drove 14 hours yesterday back and forth to/from Iowa to pass out pamphlets and call supporters. Had great conversations with other volunteers and even some good ones on the phone when I was calling supporters! Freezing cold, but a fun time.

Jeff, 48, Retired Ironworker, live in Montana, 3rd party voter since 92.
I'm kinda fond of the Constitution, so Ron Paul is the "only" choice.
I'm inspired by the words of Patrick Henry (with a slight twist)

"I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me Ron Paul(liberty) or give me death!"

Agree and Welcome!

Jen, 19, stay at home mother and small business owner. My conscious won't let me vote for anyone else- Ron Paul agrees with my view on EVERY SINGLE issue, I never imagined that I wouldn't have to compromise on any of my beliefs. I'm glad to see someone loves this country enough to try and win her back! Everything Ron Paul stands for is the stances that the common man bickers to one another about. My daughter is the most important thing in my life and everything I do is for her, I feel personally responsible for the world she lives in- I brought her into this world. I will not let my daughter and decedents say we did nothing! If things do not change soon- there will be a revolution, in the name of love.

me

My name is Joe and I am from Caroline County,MD (Federalsburg to be exact). I am 27 years old, married and a father of three. I am an auctioneer and own my own small auction business. I am a supporter of Ron Paul and have been active in converting those around me through personally talking with them, yard signs, bumper stickers, notes left to waitresses, trying to get ad's in local papers, etc. I have given to every fundraising effort thus far and have donated towards some other grassroots fundraisers. I am a lifelong republican who comes from a politically active family and if Ron Paul does not get the nomination that for the first time ever I will be staying home on election day because after the last Presidential election I swore that I would never agin go to the ballot box to decide between the lesser of two evils.

Do you ever throw in a random "Ron Paul" when calling auctions?

Do I have $25, $30, Ron Paul, $35, going once, going twice -- Ron Paul -- SOLD!

Me

My name is Jason and I am 38 years old and work as a police sergeant in the Lehigh Valley, PA. I have been a police officer for about fourteen years and I currently am in my last year of law school. I am married and have a four month old daughter. I have always been interested in our political process and always voted, but I have never been really involved. Through my experience at a truly liberal law school and the recent actions of our federal government, I have become obsessed with this election. I have spent the last years studying the Constitution and Ron Paul is the only candidate that even comes close to understanding it. I attended the rally in Philadelphia on 10 November 2007 (Marine Corps Birthday!) and have video of it, along with others on my You Tube Channel. I should be studying for finals...:(

Hi, I'm Michele from upstate NY. As a criminal defense attorney I am lucky enough to fight for the constitution everyday. Unfortunately, it seems that I am losing the battle more and more every year. I support Ron Paul because I am hoping we can restore the constitutional principals this country was founded on. Also, as a mother I feel it is my duty to protect this country for my children. WE WILL WIN !!!

only once

I did one auction a couple of weeks ago and the bidding was slow and I made the remark "you people are spending less money than ron paul" and I giot a few laughs and the rest looks confused and sure enough I had about 6 people ask me after the sale who Ron Paul was and I was delighted to tell them!

Pat Armstrong here, I've posted several times on this forum and just saw this thread....

I was raised socialist/communist, but voted democratic exclusivly for years. I became disgusted with the whole election process when it came down to "worse or worser." My husband is the one to credit for my enlightenment to the libertarian way. Ron Paul is the closest thing to what I believe an elected official should be. Know what you believe in, fight hard to achieve-protect it, stand firm against all comers. Our Constitution is a powerful document, those who defile it shall be defeated. Those who support it, shall be rewarded. Freedom is the basis for all that we do.

We quit our jobs this spring to start our own company. We design fire protection systems for buildings, such as homes, high rises, strip malls and government buildings.

We give what we can, money, time, materials, support and enthusiasm!
