Introduce yourself! Who, What, Where, Why!

Why I support Ron Paul: BECAUSE HE MAKES SENSE!!!

It all started when I saw a clip on youtube early this year of the 2007 republican primary debate. To quote Dr. Paul, "They attack us because we're over there...What would we do if China did that to us?...They don't attack us because we're rich and free. They attack us because we're over there. What would we think if other foreign countries were doing that to us?"

Whoa...I mean, whoa...Wow...I was impressed. I wanted to know more about this man and his principles.

Since then, I'd watched a lot of clips on youtube on Dr. Paul and read his books, "The Revolution", "Foreign Policy of Peace" (This book made me say "are you fucking kidding me?!?!?! The government did whaaaaaat?!?!?!), and "Liberty Defined."

He motivated me to look study things like our history, the Constitution, Austrian economics, libertarianism, foreign policy, and liberty. (I kinda studied it as a kid in school, but I was only going through the motions.)

People say that we should be proud to be an American like it's a rhetoric. I say until you know WHY you're proud to be an American, you're just saying it. You're a sheeple. Before Dr. Paul, I wasn't proud to be an American; I just didn't give a shit. I'm proud now and the reason is because of our Constitution. The law of the land that was made by the leaders to keep the leaders in check.

I'm one those people who he changed my apathy. He is the red pill...

Thank you, Dr. Paul.

Oh, yeah. I donated yesterday to the money bomb. I never thought I'd do that for a politician, let alone to anyone. Anyone who know me will think I took a bottle full of "happy drugs" for doing that because I'm that much of a "don't give a shit about anything" kind of guy.

YO!

I'm liberalrepublican. SoCal born and raised, 20 year old college student and a "soft" Ron Paul supporter (meaning I support him but there are other candidates I might vote for-- it depends).

Hello. I'm Anya. My husband who is currently in the US Army (we are stationed in Japan atm and he is in Iraq unfortunately) 'introduced' me to Ron Paul in 2008 and I became a dedicated supporter when I heard him speak about the problems in our country. He's been saying the same thing my dad has been saying and that I'd been repeating through high school and college - which I got attacked for. I want him to be president so I can finally be proud to be an American. I joined the forum so I could find out how to better support and spread the word for Dr. Paul!

My husband and I also donated to the money bomb and plan to donate to each one!

hi all! i prefer not to give out my name to the general public online on principle, but suffice to say, i've been a fan of liberty all my life. i was interested in the libertarian platform in my teens (now in my early 30's), however, i wasn't really conscious of the underlying principles until i came across ron paul. the immediate thing that attracted me to the message of liberty is was personal freedoms, but with the 2008 campaign came economic thought.

since that time, i have strongly advocated freedom, sound currency, and (very) small gov't with my friends, family, and many of those i come in contact with. i believe it to be the absolute best route to a prosperous society.

Hi I'm Paul,

I have to say, I'm not a voter. I voted once and R.R. STILL got to be president. :(

I just turned 50, it's time to start paying more attention. And I do like what I've heard from Ron Paul, Also Ralph Neader.

I joined because I thought I might find answers to a couple questions I have here. But now I'm tired and need food. So I'll just say HELLO, and good night.

Paul

just call me Hans lol. I've been quite an avid Ron Paul supporter for a while now

Welcome all! :D You've all come to the right place :)

Hi, I'm Shay from Largo, FL. Full time I am an athletic trainer in an ortho clinic in physical therapy. My business on the side is an independant business owner with Amway Global. I'm part of the Clearwater Ron Paul Meetup Group and am very excited about getting the word out (especially getting 912, tea party groups on board) for the 2012 election. This is our last hope to save America!

Howdy all:

6 year libertarian (now voluntarist really) and 5 year RP supporter here. Heard about him while I was studying abroad in college in '07. I work with Queens CFL and a smaller, locally-focused group called NYCLAG now. Been lurking here since I met one of the guys who runs this joint at CPAC and figured it was time to make with the posting. Met Dr. Paul last month at a signing and promised him NYC would come out strong this time around.

best,

tom

Welcome! Since you're from Florida, have you seen this thread?

Hey all,

Well ... I figure today (RP candidacy announcement day) is a pretty good day to say hello and get actively involved :)

My name is Josh. I currently live in the upstate New York area where my family is, but until recently I spent some time in Portland out in Oregon - and before that was settled in Central Florida for about 10 years. So - along with a few other places here and there - I've seen a whole lot of this country throughout my life, and met a whole lot of Americans along the way.

I will say straight off that Ron Paul is the only politician that I have ever wholeheartedly believed in. That is, not only do I almost invariably agree with his positions on the issues in just about every way, I also have a deep appreciation for the profound philosophical basis of those positions. Fair enough, I suppose ...

But even beyond that: he's about the only elected official I actually trust. Which is saying alot. That's not only a compliment to the man, his philosophies, and his rock solid consistency in standing up for such over the years ... but simultaneously it is also sad that there are not more.

I am an artist, and a technician, and I've done a variety of things in my life, and I'm educated - but I can't say I was ever all that politically aware ... that is until the last election in 2008. I was into my artistic and technical stuff, and my friends and family, and into in my own life.

Politics and economics? These things were last on my list. I was registered Independent because that's what I am and that's how I was raised; to evaluate everything and everyone based on individual merits.

In fact politics and economics were so far off my radar - that I voted for Obama in the election :) Yes I saw Ron Paul in the debates. I remember thinking "... wait, who's this guy? What's he saying?" ... but truth be told I wasn't aware enough of the big picture at that moment in time to be able to evaluate what he was saying.

Obama promised an end to the wars. He promised an end to the Patriot Act. He promised transparency. He promised an end to signing statements, torture, rendition, "preventative war" etc etc .. on and on. We all know what he said he stood for. Now we know what he really stands for.

So in the intervening 2.5 years I have had a massive awakening in politics and sound money. Liberty and free markets. Jefferson and Mises.

I see the end of our Republic is nigh. I really do, for all intents and purposes its already gone. But I refuse to believe that it's too late.

I made a promise to myself that if Dr Paul ran for the presidency again, that for the first time in my life I would get involved.

So here I am. Good luck everyone. Lets make this thing happen.

Hello, excited, from the High Desert, CA

Hello there! My name is Patrick. I'm hailing from Southern California, born and raised. I'm thirty years old, work as a mentor for middle schoolers up here in the high desert (Victorville). I do graphic design on the side.

I just read Revolution, and my wife and I are getting fired up for Ron Paul, because we feel as though the situation here in this country is getting critical as we're still at war overseas, our civil liberties are eroding, and work is becoming more difficult to come by as our politicians are selling us down the river.

We look forward to meeting other freedom loving people through meet-ups and this website. As of now, I'm getting the word out about Ron Paul via word of mouth to family and friends. I look forward to spreading the good word about Dr. Ron Paul to acquaintances and strangers on the street and on the job. I will probably incorporate design elements into the equation (signs, postcards/fliers/leaflets, t-shirts, etc.)

If anyone is up here in the high desert, let's meet up soon!

Hello, fellow patriots. I've been signed up since 07, but have been posting on the DP. I hope to see our forces combine for the monumental battle that is ahead of us. This is the last chance we have to try and put a stop to this madness, peacefully. I hope to work with you in the days ahead. Our hands are going to be full, to say the least.

Hi, I'm Katii from Illinois.

I've been a supporter of Ron Paul's since he started campaigning for the '08 Presidential election.

Chowder, I loved your introduction. Thank you for posting it. I can't tell you how good it does my heart, how much hope it inspires in me to hear stories like your own.

I am absolutely committed to do all I can physically and financially to get Ron Paul elected President in 2012 (assuming I'm not wrong about his intentions to run - but he's announced tonight he will form an exploratory committee :))

I was born and raised in Southern Illinois, although now I live in Texas!! Welcome! :)

Hey, I'm new here. Have been lurking for a day or two.. Don't know what to say or how I will contribute but this site seems awesome and I'll do what I can I guess. From Iowa, moved here a little over a year ago. Was never too enthusiastic about politics or voting or any of that but things seem to be getting exciting so I guess we shall see where we can go with it.

Talk on the boards and the chat room..

I'm basically in the same position this poster is in, minus the other information you can find on my profile's "about me" section. I look forward to helping with the movement!
