Hi,

I came from the Green Party to the Libertarian Party, hence my username "GreenLP."

I've always identified myself as more left than right, more liberal than conservative. I've always been a civil libertarian and when I started working full-time in life and seeing how much taxes the govt has been stealing out of my pathetic paycheck, I've become more "fiscally conservative," so the LP became the party for me.

The main reason I left the Green Party is because they call for too much govt and what I have learned over the years is that humans tend to become dictatorial and/or corrupt real quick when they are given too much power over others. I still identify myself as "Green" in spirit.

I predominantly vote LP, or 3rd party if there is no LP candidate running. If no 3rd party candidate is running, I would vote Demo over Repub, but not like it really matters these days because both sides are corrupt and want to keep out 3rd parties and electronic voting is probably all rigged these days.

I agree with most the LP platform (I'd say above 90%), but do differ in a few things at this point which is partly why I joined here to discuss some of those issues.

Hi, I'm Gene.
I am a graduate student in Los Angeles and has been a big fan of Ron Paul ever since he began his 2008 campaign.
My political leaning is libertarian.
Currently, my number one interest is foregin policy.
I think something is fundamentally wrong in our foregin policy and it's not just about politicians.
I am very angry that our politicians are in the pocket of Military Industrial Complex and the lobbyist who work for a foreign country.
I am very angry that an organization such as AIPAC dictates our foreign policy.
And let me telll you this.
Whenever someone is angry at AIPAC, there's always other person shouts 'hater!' and etc. etc. BUT I am anything but a hater.
I am a libertarian to the bone and I do not judge people as a group.
I only judge people by individual basis.
However, I think it is critical that we have to address the issue (too much Israeli lobby!) because we have to put our interest first.
Mind you, I DO have Jewish friends.
My concern is an extreme right wing administration of Israel is dragging us into the situations that is clearly NOT in our best interest.
And I do believe with all my heart that Ron Paul is the only one who can save the Republic.
I will do anything I can to persuade him to run in 2012.
As individual should mind his/her own business, America should mind our own business and stay out of complicated foreign affairs especially in the Middle East!

In politics I usually registered Independent(I), sometimes Republican(RPR) and now I'm just thinking of going all out Libertarian(L) - but I'm still in the "Leaning Libertarian" camp for now...
I used to not care about politics because I was always in the "Lessor of two evils" mindset and "what's the point" ideology, until I was introduced to the great Dr. No. Like most of us I would gather Ron Paul has inspired us to learn more about what our Country used to be like and how we'd like to go "Back to the Republic!"
Read some Ayan Rand, Followed some Libertarian Blogs, Milton Friedman FAN, and endorse just plain old Individualism and total Freedom. Not anarchy but Limited Government Freedom.
Money is my main concern as it relates to the bankster cartel otherwise known as the Federal Reserve. Read Ron Paul books, went to go see him live on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Joined Meetup groups, utilized Social Networks, contributed to Liberty Minded candidates, and so on and so on.
As a responsible grown man, Husband and Father who takes his kids to Church for Sunday School and service I absolutely believe that we must end the Drug War in other words end Prohibition. You would never catch me telling my kids to "Just say No to Drugs" since I do not want them to focus on the bad but rather the good. Therefore I would prefer to say "Just say Yes to Health!"
Anyway enough about me... Tell me about you and your re-introduction to Freedom!

I think environmental issues are among the most interesting to deal with from a liberty perspective. And among the most difficult to explain to others. I hope you will bring your powers to bear on those issues for the good of us all.

Re-introducing myself after an absence of closer to half-a-year than a month did not seem off topic, particularly insofar as my sentiments are much the same.

As the Rand Paul/Rachel Maddow exchange clarifies, non-discrimination is the watchword even in "private" venues. Do you feel that you censure me in a non-discriminatory fashion?

You are a very smart woman. I'm interested to see if you are smart enough to figure out how to share your views without alienating the people most likely in all the world to embrace you. If you can't, I will honestly be sad for all of us.

My intro!

Hey guys! Missed this when I first joined, so here goes.

Name's Kyrie. 18 years old from California. Christian. College student, no major declared. I love music, playing guitar, skateboarding, video games, food, stimulating discussion, and Ron Paul.

I've always been interested in politics from a young age, but only became a real libertarian last year after Obama was elected. Before that, I was pretty neocon indoctrinated on account of watching Fox News about every hour of the day, believing neoconservatism to be the only answer to liberalism, terrorism, and other problems.

I'm very sympathetic to the idea of anarcho-capitalism and voluntaryism. It seems to me to be the only completely libertarian way to go. Still, I wouldn't put myself completely there, only because I don't believe I know enough about it, and how it would react to everything, simply because it's never been tried, correct me if I'm wrong. But I'm very interested in it.

We are glad to support sites that promote Ron Paul, as we fully supported Ron Paul in the 2008 Elections. I first heard or saw Ron Paul back in 2001 or 2002 when he was on MSNBC with Joe Bannister talking about the income tax.

Hi all. I'm from Arizona and I'm 18. I go to Arizona State and currently work in fast food while applying for other jobs.

I grew up in a typical "conservative" family and never knew much of Ron Paul until a friend (also a user on these forums) started posting videos of him on facebook every so often. I'd watch them and every one I watched made me like him slightly more than the last. Well eventually he started to grow on me and sometime after the last election is when I started supporting him.

I love how he's honest and speaks his mind no matter how unpopular the opinion may be. He's very knowledgable on a whole host of subjects and just makes the most sense to me.

I doubt many people read this thread anyway so I'll stop there. It will be nice to see other freedom-minded opinions on popular issues.

Hey I'm Brady. I'm from Indiana. I'm going to Indiana State University for Accounting. I want to be come a cpa and tell people about the evils of the income tax while benefiting from the service of the said object.

I've recently become a libertarian. I was a neocon prior to 2008. I voted for McCain. Days after the election a friend introduced me to Ron Paul's Manifesto and it opened my eyes. He was saying everything that I agreed with. My arguments in the past were so weak, so narrow minded.

I do believe that freedom is the way to go. Republicans alway preach freedom and liberties but it never holds up. I prefer the libertarian route anyways. I'm interested in sound money. I think if we fix the money situation a lot of our other problems go away. For example if we get rid of the federal reserve system then we can't pay for a lot of the warfare or welfare that we currently are. I would like to go back to a gold standard but i'm open for other commodities as well.

I joined this forum a couple of months ago. There's a lot of freedom loving people here and it's nice to be able to talk about things that people generally actually agree with me on. I'm on the chat room often. Later

Hello all. I am not sure where this "vast right wing conspiracy" is but, it took me forever to find a forum that was friendly to conservative views.

Because of past experiences with forum stalkers, I don't want to divulge too much personal info but, I currently live in Arizona, yes that Arizona, and I agree with most everything that is happening here. I only hope there is enough time to put this country back one the correct path, and I think that Mr. Paul and his son are part of that solution.
