Introduce yourself! Who, What, Where, Why!

I Am Ron Paul

Howdy folks, from planet Venus Texas. My name is Rusty Cross. I, am Ron Paul. You, are Ron Paul. I only learned about Dr. Paul about six months ago. He's our only hope for America. It's great that such a diverse combination of freedom fighters can amass such unity as the unity we are observing now. We are changing politics in American. Let's give um hell.

Hello all~!
My name is Christy. I'm from Louisiana, married, one son and another due on the 28th of Feb. I'm here because I'm tired of the way our country is being run. I'm tired of the direction it's headed, I'm ready and willing for a change. I fear for my childrens futures. Ron Paul is the only person I've found willing and able to make the changes this country desperately needs. I stumbled upon him back in September'ish when my brother sent me a link to a movie on the web. The guy who made the movie had a link posted to Ron Paul. I was intrigued from that moment on. Which led me here. I hope we can generate enough momentum to get him the win this country is in dire need of. Look foward to getting to know all of you and am hoping our journey is not in vain!

Hi everyone,
My name Stephen. I am from Paso Robles, Ca. I have been a supporter of Dr. Paul for several months, though I only got active since late November. I bemoan the lost time now, but I have knocked on almost 500 doors in my area and will keep going out each weekend.
I truly believe RPs message and will continue to spread it.

new supporter...sort of...

Hello
My name is Karl and I'm from Houston TX. I am a Fred Thompson supporter but Ron Paul...well, I'm interested. I've done a little digging on the forums/postings and I have some questions...

Ron Paul supports a "non-interventionist" approach to foreign policy, right? I read an exchange in which a valid argument for intervening and , frankly, a not-so-good argument for non-intervention in world affairs...good points were made on both sides...but to me the "interventionist" won.
My question: If Ron Paul says we shouldn't involve our country in the affairs of others and we should basically "mind our own business"...To whom else on the "world stage" would he trust to handle things better? Why shouldn't we intervene to liberate the oppressed and keep the world safe (as safe as possible) for democracy. We certainly can't trust China, or Russia or EU or even the UK anymore...not w/o Tony Blair.
There are people in this world that are diametrically and violently opposed to our way of life. That is real, it is fact, they are dangerous. They have proven they can hurt us. They want to destroy us and have stated that goal repeatedly, publicly. Why shouldn't we intervene? If not our own military, then who? If it's our freedom they hate and US they want to kill...well, we make better bombs and shouldn't be afraid to use them.

This is my overwhelming concern with voting for him.

Prove to me that his way is the best way and he'll have my vote. I agree with him on every other issue, but our nations' future and continued existence is paramount in my mind. Until we win, there is no other issue...at least not to me.

Hi
My name is Joe, I’m 54 married and live in Zionsville, Indiana, just outside of Indianapolis. I’ve been a LP activist and candidate for over 25 years and supported Dr. Paul in his run as a Libertarian. I’ve currently rejoined the GOP (Left in the mid 70’s) to help Dr. Paul. I’m signed up as a Precinct Leader and plan to run for precinct delegate in the primary. Dr. Paul has pulled me back into politics. I’m interested in networking with other on how to keep this broad movement together, IF we cannot secure the nomination. I’m against a third party run myself. If you think there is a blackout now, it is nothing compared to what he would get as a 3rd party candidate or independent.
But right now it’s all about the delegate count. I’m with Ron Paul for as long as he is willing to lead.

Karl
The first mistake (in my opinion) is that you believe that they hate us for our freedom. They hate us because we go to their nations and try to tell them how to live. Let me ask you this Karl: If you chose to live a certain way ie. you wanted to live according to your own religious doctine that didn't allow you to be as you say liberated would you want another country coming in offering what we call freedom which would directly contradict the way you have chosen to live? When you see women in another country wearing Burka's do you think that they are being forced to wear them? The problem with America going around "liberating" other countries is that America never liberates them but rather indoctrinates them into living the way America wants them to live and not the way they choose to live. Ron Paul realizes this and isn't taking an isolationist approach but rather an approach is conducive of peace and prosperity. People will ALWAYS be willing to fight people who intend on forcing their ideology upon them. Iraq has never been a threat to the United States. I think the reason you believe this way is because you like most of America has been lied to about why we went to Iraq. We didn't go there to liberate them we went there to use them for a specific purpose. Everywhere America goes today, they go there with a specific intent be it economically or strategically. When you hear the worlds only super-power thats what America is. There is no nation individually that could threaten us religiously, economically, or militarily and our government knows this. You may say yeah but what about 911, well if it was as they have portrayed it to be then why hasn't the American government been more forthcoming with information that would have quashed all doubt? The only candidate running for President that is not a member of the Council of Foreign Relations (Which in it's own documents has stated that American sovereignty should be eliminated) is Ron Paul. This is the organization that is determining America's foreign policy which in and of itself would mean little until one researches their members and the ideas that they entertain. I hope you consider what I've wrote here and at least research a little. Thanks for coming to this forum.

I would also add that if we are afraid of terrorists coming into the country to do us harm Why were the borders not secured immediately following sept 11th and why are they still wide open, allowing undocumented people to flood in?

Any one with bad intentions can come in much more easily than they can from another continent. It makes more sense to me to have the military here protecting these borders, it would greatly reduce the loss of innocent life and help the economy by spending the money here instead of abroad.
BTW welcome Karl.

I don't want to distract the purpose of this thread so after this post if you want to continue this discussion let's do it in private messages.

My short answer to your concerns is that you should fear our own government 100 times more than people half a world away. I think the best thing I could refer you to watch is the documentary "Freedom to Fascism" by Aaron Russo. This changed my life. This is the scariest documentary I've ever seen.

Click the link below and watch it from beginning to end:

Hi!!
My name is Lisa and I live in northern Michigan. I have been lurking in this forum for some time and have posted previously to this post. I have been following Ron Paul for quite some time. I actually voted for him back in 1988. It was the first election I was able to vote in. I was ecstatic when he decided to run for president in '08. Ron Paul is our only hope. He is the only candidate that is clear on what he stands for and truly represents We The People.

Hello! Another Ron Paul supporter here. I'm currently in Canada working as a Video game artist but Pauls message of Liberty is reaching many other Countries around the globe.

Lets go Paul!

Hello all I am James I am 28 years old from Huntington Beach California. I have been a Ron Paul supporter for the last 8 months. I found his message on YouTube While looking at different political videos. It was the first time I was ever moved by a real candidate that I could genuinely admire. I was so inspired I thought of an idea of creating a YouTbe video that made history and raised him 4.3 Million dollars in one day.

If your interested in reading more check out my blog and say hello.

Hi everyone,

My name is Cheryl. I currently live in NJ with my husband Brian and our daughter. Both Brian and I are prior USN.

Brian told me about Dr. Paul a few months back. Since then we've both been talking him up to everyone we know. When we registered to vote here, we registered as unaffiliated, but after learning about Dr. Paul, we changed to Republican so that we could vote for him in the primaries. Neither of us have ever really been interested in politics until Dr. Paul. We look forward to seeing his inauguration!

Hi folks,

My name is Travis, I am a 27 year old Registered Republican from south/central Pennsylvania. I am currently an unemployed electrician, I can't offer anything out of my wallet at the moment, but I can offer encouragement, constructiveness and fresh ideas.

As to why I am here:
I've always been skeptical of any hype on the internet, I shoved it off like the little boy who cried wolf story. Thankfully, just after New Years, I had enough patience left to check out www.ronpaul2008.com.

First I checked out taxes and how he wants to spare working class of federal income tax, my first thoughts were "sounds awesome, but is it really practical?", and then I checked out the foreign policy, which is what caught most of my attention. So I continued to check out illegal immigration, healthcare, education, inflation, etc. All these pieces of the puzzle fit together so amazingly simple that, I had to ask myself, "how in the world has things come down to this?"

I’ve come to a similar conclusion others have, it’s nothing much more than the snowball effect. I do have a slight desire to find the origins of the snowball. However, the origin shouldn't be the issue at the moment, stopping that snowball is the issue.

Lastly, I've never been big about New Year’s resolutions, because I could never keep them. This year I made two (a few days late :o) but I'm going to keep them. First; never depend on New Years to make a resolution, and Second; never forget who I am and can be, ever again! :)

Thank you!

My name is Wesley Linder. I live in Southeast Texas (Groves, specifically), and I'm an engineer at a chemical plant. I'm 26, and have always supported conservative Republicans and Libertarians. I agree with Dr. Paul's stances on just about everything except immigration. I have donated in all the money bombs except the first. I had read the forum occasionally, but I volunteered at the Lake Charles, LA, caucus last night, and seeing a lot of people with misinformation and questions, I decided to register and participate a little. I'm really looking forward to the March 9 primaries.

I am a 49 year old male and long-time Democrat, small business owner and father of five children. Of the five, three are approaching the age of eligibility for military service. I'm not opposed to the idea of them serving their country, but I am adamantly and vitriolically opposed to this unprovoked, misdirected fallacy we commonly refer to as the War in Iraq.

The direction this country has come to accept as either necessary or unavoidable stupefies me. Under the guise of righteousness and retaliation for 9/11, we have given up certain constitutional liberties and have allowed our government to spend us into a debt that is unfathomable to comprehend.

There can be no more discussion of social policy, military strategy, environmental and infrastructure restoration without first addressing the staggering and debilitating national debt.

I truly believe Dr. Paul understands the fiduciary and constitutional principles of governance better than any candidate I have listened to in my lifetime. His perspective on the proper role of government as directed by the laws of our constitution has awakened a following of support by people who honestly think our country needs to be removed from the governing class and given back to the people who believe in the republic for which we stand, not the empire.
