Introduce yourself! Who, What, Where, Why!

I'm Paul, a 19 year old college student in NW Indiana, and I'm thinking about starting a Young Americans for Liberty chapter at my school when I start up again next semester, although I'm not sure it'll be very fruitful (I could be wrong, though!)

I'm a Ron Paul supporter, although I do like Gary Johnson and Mark Sanford as well. The message of liberty and personal freedom is most important though, not the cult of personality.

Welcome, Indiana! :)

Welcome, and I agree completely! Unfortunately there is no one else that has the voting record to back up their rhetoric other than Ron Paul.

Yeah, but Sanford and [maybe!] Johnson are more electable than Dr. Paul and more charismatic.

Sanford and Johnson have the Ron Paul principles, but they have the Obama/Reagan charisma. But this is an intro thread...not a debate thread. If we want to debate this...I think the mods want this to take this somewhere else...I think.

Paul's views:

Domestic: Hardcore fiscal/monetary conservative. Pro-gun rights. Social liberal (maybe even libertine). Rights for the unborn. Pro-civil liberties.

Foreign: Ideally, I'm non-intervention. However, in application and pragmatism, I could settle for realpolitik. It's as conservative as you can get, after non-interventionism. I'm no stinkin' neocon BLAH!!!!

Hi everybody, I'm Jim Carter I live in Kansas and want you to know that we are winning
in the battle for freedom, keep up the good work fellow Patriots

Hello everyone. My name is Blaize Richardson. I'm 19 year old from the state of Missouri and have been a Ron Paul supporter from the first time I heard him speak. 2008 was the first year I was ever eligible to vote and I'm very proud to say that the first vote I ever casted was for such a great guy.

Anyways I signed up, because I need some help spreading the ideas of capitalism and freedom. I figured if anyone was bored they might be interested in helping me out here. You see I'm a big mma fan and I go on these mma forums a lot and on them they have a politics section. Anyways a few people are ganging up on me and trying to spread the ideas of socialism. I figured if anyone was bored I'd appreciate if they would help me set these guys straight. I'd hate for someone who's impressionable to see what they wrote and get the wrong ideas about how a free soceity should work. Anyways heres a link to what I'm referring to. (I'm killerinstinct over there by the way.) http://forum.mmaspot.net/showthread.php?t=6446&page=2

Welcome, Mr. Richardson.

This site has a search function. When in doubt, let your socialistic adversary cool his or her heels and book on over here and use the search function in the forum toolbar (under the corner of the login box, but not until you log in).

If you're in a hurry, you can just start a thread and hit us up. But the 'library' is full of good stuff--much of it better than what we can come up with off the tops of our heads.

Welcome! And keep up the good fight!

Just get ahold of those guys and slap a triangle on them. That'll squeeze the socialism out of them.

Hello. I am a resident of California, specifically the Bay Area. I am concerned about the size of the federal government and am deeply disturbed by the lack of true conservative and libertarian representation in the United States Government.

I signed up here because I figured this would be a great place to help others fight the good fight, and restore our nation's Constitution.

Greetings everyone, name's Patrick, I am a political blogger. On the political note I consider myself a Libertarian Conservative, my stance on the issues are what I think conservatives used to be before the movement was hijacked. While I'm sure most of you cringe at the thought of a conservative in you midst I assure you there is little will disagree on.

On that note I joined the forum to talk with like minded folks. I also feel that agreeing without someone 80% of the time makes them your ally. At this stage I agree with Libertarians far more than my conservative friends. The more twisted the conservative movement gets the more Libertarian I look.

Anyway I understand the nature of the internet, the tendencies of others to start a flame war. I'm not interested in such a thing and won't be around to fight with anyone. My motive is to discuss the issues and get a better grasp on the things I believe.

Anyway I'm sure I will enjoy it around here and hope I add substance to the conversations.

Welcome...you will find plenty of conservatives here. We seem to be one big melting pot around these parts. :)

E Komo Mai, all of you. Thanks for all you are doing and I am glad you found our little hive :D

Yeppers, the true "big tent".

Many of us identify as conservatives, (including lots who thought they were "liberal" till they spent some time here - hehe). What we really are, (mostly) is rugged individuals, ("rugged" helps on a board that tries to maximize free speech;)), with similar understandings of the socio-economic value of liberty, and a strong dislike for lying, lawbreakers abusing the power of gov't.

(Oh, and while I have your attention, please check the lobby pack link in my sig and make sure your congressional reps are aware that we are watching their responses to this bill. Ask for them to support a rollcall vote, thanks)
