gives us a good idea on the demographics we do well and we need to improve.

NEED to improve with the 65+ crowd cause they generally get their info from the mainstream media, NOT the internet
NEED to improve with women

We do dominate the young voters and independents which could tip the scales in our favor as they did for Obama in Iowa in 2008.

The really sad thing about the 18-29 & 65+ numbers is its these 52% who are now responsible for taking care of those 65+'s. This crowd apparently doesn't mind voting away the financial future of their grandkids. Does anyone else see the irony in these numbers? Talk about proof of the "democracy/mob rules" and "voting themselves a paycheck."

I agree that it would be very nice to improve this number but if my mother in law is any indicator whatsoever then don't count on getting any support from this crowd. She loves to talk about how she supports Ron Paul and how he's the only one who makes sense while at the same time commenting on how much she prefers coming to my house to wash her clothes rather than using the laundromat in her complex because at my house its FREE (ahem... TINSTAAFL... I guess she thinks the tooth fairy or someone else pays the power/water bill and maintenance on the machine). Then again, she talks about all the FREE stuff at my house without realizing how insulting it is to me for her lack of consideration for how NOT FREE my monthly bills are!!!

And OMG, if one more reporter even mentions the words NEWS and LETTER in the same sentence you all will hear the justifiably angry scream of a woman who is past furious scorn and if there were any justice whatsoever in the world, said reporters armpits would be permanently infested by the fleas of a thousand camels!

I WANT THIS IOWA WIN SO BAD JUST TO SHOVE THIS NEWSLETTER CRAP DOWN THE THROATS OF EVERY SINGLE DISHONEST JOURNALIST WHO HAS DONE NOTHING BUT TALK ABOUT IT RATHER THAN WHAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT LIKE I DUNNO..... SAVING AMERICA FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS??!! (But I guess that stopped being important to those video ego maniacs a long LONG time ago).

 We got this on turnout, ground game, and genuine enthusiasm.

Not that we should stop working though.

Gained: 15.2
Lost: 8.5
So some of the gains have been from undecideds making a choice. A question could be: which of the three candidates gaining benefitted most from undecideds coming on board?

the 18-29 bracket only had half what any of the other brackets had..... if they get out and vote we run away with this.... its all down to the youth vote......
18-29 was only 11% of the poll, which was the turnout for that age bracket in 2008. Obama turned out 22% of that age group. We could really outperform tomorrow.

Wow thanks I was getting around to looking for the Obama young vote stat and then I forgot. I'm glad my suspicion was confirmed.

It's interesting because the overall Democrat vote in 2008 was also double the overall vote of Republicans.

What the hell is up with the hispanics? I guess they don't like the idea of losing their subsidies.

Actually if you look at the top, it appears that ONLY 7 Hispanics were polled, so take it with a grain of salt. I do think though that generally Paul does poor with Hispanics and that this is a part of the demographic that needs improvement.

That is because the youth just don't show up as much as the other age brackets. It's a fact of life. I said over a month ago that Paul needed to go after the Republican seniors to win Iowa. I guess no one bothered to listen. So now we are all just hoping the youth and liberals turn out? It's not how you win caucuses and primaries.

all that is needed is that the youngsters convince their parents and grandparents :)

Hillary beat obama 45-18 among seniors. She lost the caucus by 8 points. 18-29 year olds were equal to seniors, 22% showed up. I think Hillary would disagree with you about the youth vote.

BTW love this quote: "This race is more decided than pundits think. The polls consistently show what we show, that being a Romney-Paul showdown," said Matt Towery, CEO of InsiderAdvantage.

Young people turn out to vote when they are excited about a candidate. They didn't turn out for the Republicans last time because Obama was tugging at their heartstrings, and Huckabee, McCain and Mittens were.... ummm.... boring.

Rockstar Ron Paul is this year's Obama in that regard. He has appeal, and the fact that over 50 percent (!!!!) of young voters support him proves that.

Times are changing:

As someone stated - In 2008 Obama had the majority youth vote, not Ron Paul. Now Obama isn't running here now.

Remember the internet was a big deal last time but 4 years is HUGE in internet and social media time. Now it's a different ball game. As the internet expands and becomes even more sophisticated so will the youth vote and the liberty movement.

Oh yeah and more youth are becoming of age to vote and the old decrepit fox viewing people are taking a long nap as time goes.

I think its pretty clear that we are in striking distance of winning this thing. All we have to do is get the supporters out there to vote and we win.
All of our hard work has payed off, now its time to execute.
Let's do this.

Since 12/28:

Romney +6%
Paul +5%
Santorum +5%
Gingrich -1%
Perry -1%
Bachmann -6%
Huntsman -1%

Lol @ Bachmann.

Don't count her out yet, man. You saw how she manhandled poor little Paul in the debate! And she will do that at the polls too. Besides, we all know she's got all the youth support. In fact, there's probably 23 that she knows of that will support her in everything she'll do!

What your mother in law and the 60+ year old people who are counting on social security and Medicare need to understand is that if one of these other politicians gets elected they're not going to be collecting what they expect.

The 2nd Edge Of Modern Financial Repression: Manipulating Inflation Indexes To Steal From Retirees & Public Workers
http://danielamerman.com/articles/2011/DoubleRc.html
Financial Repression is the academic term for how governments can pay down enormous debts by forcing interest rates below the rate of inflation, and then systematically confiscate the purchasing power of their citizens' savings over time, while keeping people from being able to escape or defend themselves. It is a hidden form of investor wealth confiscation and redistribution with a very long track record of "success", that is as effective in its own way as taxation...

The Solution For Governments: Inflation Index Manipulation & Theft By Statistics
Simply put, the solution for governments is to not pay what has been promised to entitlement beneficiaries (especially retirees) and public sector workers who rely on inflation-indexed payments. Instead, governments use their direct control of how inflation rates are calculated and reported to deliberately understate the rate of inflation, which then steadily reduces retiree and inflation-indexed workers standards of living on an annual basis over the coming years and decades. From the perspective of governments - which is a very different perspective from fairness and justice for individual citizens - this leads to a highly desirable outcome...
