In Kansas, a vote for Huck = a vote for Ron Paul [Mod: WARNING! Info is unverified]

My new philosphy (since joining the Revolution) for who my vote goes to is this:

- Voting for who I believe in and agree with gets me the most "bang for my buck". My concience will be clear.

- Not voting when there isn't a worthy candidate sends a message to my party that I am not satisfied with their choice. My concience will be clear.

- Voting strategically is a vote for the status quo. It supports the currently flawed system and way of thinking. It tells my party that I can be manipulated. My concience will not be clear.

Should we just blindly support the currently flawed system and watch McCain cruise to the nomination. Or should we abuse the currently flawed system, worked towards a brokered convention, and watch a convention fight where RP could have significant say

Delegates are not elected at the caucus! That is a separate process in the summer of this year. Delegates have to support the person they are appointed to support.

Also, I don't think Kansas is a winner take all state, with the caucus. Someone point me to some (reliable) contrary info if I'm wrong. Seems to me from what I read about the caucus:

1. The winner of each Congressional District gets 3 delegates.
2. Party officials are in 3 delegate positions.
3. The remaining delegates are given to the overall winner. That candidate must win at least 2 Congressional Districts.

I don't think turnout is going to be very high. Here's why. Kansas has always had primaries. They were one of the latest ones, though, so it was usually decided by the time Kansas voted.

Since 1992, the legislature has voted not to have a primary. I was out of the state for a lot of that time, but as far as I know, they have not had anything. This year they are having a caucus. Most people know the legislature voted not to have a primary. And I think most people don't even know there is a caucus!!! Not only that, but there is a learning curve there. If you've never caucused, what is the chance you are going to go out of your way to find out how to do it.

Some very motivated supporters could do well in that situation, and that's us.

When I get an email from Ron Paul telling us to vote for Huck, I will do so, and not otherwise!!!!!!

I don't think Barry Goldwater, Jr. is going to be a speaker at our caucus to tell us to vote for Huckabee. He's going to speak there to promote Ron Paul.

This all sounds like a plan of Huckabee and his supporters. :p Look what he did in West Virginia.

It's a WTA by district/state. We're not winning either
We are not going to win any KS delegates period. They are bound to the winner. However, a Mike Huckabee win in KS is a big NET POSITIVE FOR RON PAUL

Despite what others may have you believe.....

Huckabee does not = Paul

Jesus does not = Huckabee

Paul does not = Reagan

If you want to vote for Ron Paul, then I feel it necessary to tell you that your vote will only be counted for Ron Paul, if it is tallied as the name Ron Paul.

repeat Huckabee does not = Paul

If KS was a Primary state, perhaps your arguement would hold more water, but as it stands, Paul's best chances are in Caucus states, and with the only other conservative out of the race, Paul stands to gain a big boost.

Kansas is rare WTA caucus state. I despise the false prophet that is Mike Huckabee. That being said, in KS a vote for Huckabee = a vote for Paul. It's simple math

We don't know what the polls say about kansas though do we?

We don't know how many people are going to show up.

This is not a good idea. We need some strong showings anyway in order to dissuade people from ignoring Ron Paul.

Huckabee might win Kansas. McCain supporters might not show up, thinking its all over.

This is not a good thing, because there is too little information, and on the off-chance that we really have no chance of getting the nomination, we should try to show we have support.

You might be right, but you might be waaaaaaaaaaaaay wrong...

wait and see how the caucus goes. Are these blind ballots or in the open? If you can clearly tell Ron has no chance at your caucus and Huck is close to McC, then MAYBE.
It is pointless to go in with this strategy of blindly voting for Huck.
Use you head and good judgement. Go in voting for Ron unless you have definitive info that tells you otherwise.
Guessing is stupid.

Hurry, send Every KS Christians this copy via mass email or flyers?

I was reading another thread and I like Matt's magic red pill! This works! Read, copy and forward this page to everyone you know who are loyal supporters of Huckie. Good conrete info here....

What I e-mailed my Baptist sister about Huckabee

My sister is a stay at home Baptist mom who home schools; all of the stereotypes apply.

Huck was in town recently and she fwd me a message to her home schooler group of roughly 50 or so other like minded parents. Fortunately she isn't that bright and she "cc"d everyone on the list HA HA. So I promptly replied to her including everyone in that list hitting "reply to all"

Here is what I sent:

_______________________________________________
Hey Sister -

I hope you are not considering voting for Mike Huckabee?
If you are considering giving him your vote, I think there are some things you should know about him first...

Did you know that Huckabee lied about having a theology degree?

"Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee told the Christian Broadcasting Network he had a theology degree, he told voters in Iowa he had a theology degree, he repeated the claim in last month's CNN YouTube debate ... but, his campaign now says, it was not true."
The article is here:
http://worldnetdaily.com/news/articl...ICLE_ID=59222#

As governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee aggressively pushed for the early release of a convicted rapist despite being warned by numerous women that the convict had sexually assaulted them or their family members, and would likely strike again. The convict went on to rape and murder at least one other woman.

As governor, Huckabee was a tax-raiser to put till
Clinton shame.
In this short video you can see Huckabee begging for a tax increase:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaJW7nXw30A

Also troubling is Huckabee's support for illegal immigration.
As governor, he helped
Arkansas serve as a magnet for illegal immigrants who wanted jobs in the Tyson chicken plants or in-state tuition rates unavailable to American citizens from neighboring states. And he also approved a Mexican consulate generously offered up to the Mexican government for free.

Here is a video of Huckabee begging for scholarships for illegal immigrants:

The articles about Huckabee's pro-illegal immigration stance are here:

and

and

A few weeks ago while on national TV Huckabee made a very sick and improper joke about suicide: "...I'd have to be sitting in a warm tub of water with razor blades in both hands..."
This is not a remark that someone who could be the next President should be joking about.
You can watch the video clip here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-2Sb7dFsvM

There are also many questionable ethics violations by Huckabee as governor:
http://dyn.politico.com/printstory.c...E3B4881CA2FA0F

Huckabee’s named one of 10 most wanted corrupt politicians on www.judicialwatch.org
Washington, DC –Judicial Watch, the public interest group that
investigates and prosecutes government corruption, today released its
2007 list of
Washington’s “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians.”

6. Governor Mike Huckabee (R-AR): Governor Huckabee enjoyed a
meteoric rise in the polls in December 2007, which prompted a more
thorough review of his ethics record. According to The Associated
Press: “[Huckabee’s] career has also been colored by 14 ethics
complaints and a volley of questions about his integrity, ranging from
his management of campaign cash to his use of a nonprofit organization
to subsidize his income to his destruction of state computer files on
his way out of the governor’s office.” And what was Governor
Huckabee’s response to these ethics allegations? Rather than
cooperating with investigators, Huckabee sued the state ethics
commission twice and attempted to shut the ethics process down.

Here is an article that points out why Christians should beware of Huckabee
http://www.newswithviews.com/baldwin/baldwin411.htm

And also in Mathew 7:15 "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."

I dont know if you still want to vote for Huckabee given the previous information which I hope you have read. I personally recommend voting for Ron Paul.

Ron Paul was an OB/GYN and is staunchly against abortion. He delivered over 4000 babies and never once performed an abortion.

You can see Ron Paul speaking at the National Right to Life convention here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXZpuIXEzWk

Pat Robertson practically endorses Ron Paul in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opEM8tKdOLM
(although for whatever reason he eventually went on to endorse Rudy a pro-abortion candidate).

Radio pastor Chuck Baldwin does indeed endorse Ron Paul:

Check out:
http://www.christiansforronpaul.com/

You can also see Ron Paul's statement of faith:
http://www.covenantnews.com/ronpaul070721.htm

And Ron Paul is HUGE on home schooling and thinks the federal government needs to get OUT of education.
Check out these two pages for more information

http://www.ronpaul2008.com/homeschoolers/

And in this brief speech Ron Paul says that giving power to parents is truly pro-education

Anyway hopefully that will give you enough information to help you make an informed decision on who to consider voting for. If nothing else, try Googling for Ron Paul and see what responses come back, There are also other countless videos of Ron on YouTube etc.

Love ya much,

-Matt
(your favorite brother)

Actually the strategy of voting for a candidate other than Ron Paul in states where one of the other candidates was a close second and Ron Paul a distant third did cross my mind this week, but I have to agree that this is probably not a good strategy here in Kansas. I am going to be a speaker at the same caucus location that Barry Goldwater Jr will be at and I am going to give it my all for Ron Paul. There are too many indicators that we have a chance at winning Kansas.

- Ron Paul won the Johnson County Republican straw poll last December with 79 out of 79 votes.
- Ron Paul supporters in this state are very organized.
- We have a lot of volunteer from neighboring states coming to help with poll watching and speaking.
- Barry Goldwater Jr is speaking at one of our caucuses here in Johnson County.
- There is every indication that Ron Paul supporters will come out in mass and overwhelm many of the caucus locations with the only exception being the rural areas.

Well go to get to sleep early tonight, I want to be in top form for my speech tomorrow.

Wish me luck.

Paul was also the top fundraiser in Kansas.

Absolutely!

Those aren't polls that you guys keep quoting. They showed Paul at 40% in California. Stop using them.

Vote Paul in Kansas.

Yes! This is true.

Votes for Ron in KS are worthless unless he wins. He's not going to win, so caucusing for Huckabee will help lead to a brokered convention.

HA! I laugh at you. You should go sit at the children's table, or go stand on the sidelines with the rest of the weak and feeble.

I've waited years to cast the vote I'm casting today. Nothing will keep me from it. It's the absolute best and most important vote of my life. I will not play games with it.

Edited to add: Don't call my vote worthless. My vote has value to me.
