In-It-To-Win-It Money Bomb - Planning & Promotion - Goal: $2M+ in donations on April 15

I sent this email to Doug Wead. I know that people should be donating regardless of what the campaign does, but that doesn't change the fact that there are a lot of people holding their money back until the campaign attacks Romney. This would inspire new confidence in the campaign and more donations.

Hi Doug, I just wanted to lay out my opinion on something hoping you might be able influence the campaign in some way. I personally know a lot of people that want to donate to the money bomb tomorrow, but they're holding back because they haven't seen any action taken against Romney since Santorum dropped out. They want to be reassured that the campaign is serious about becoming the new Anti-Romney. They want to see Ron Paul take advantage of the opportunity Santorum has provided us. I believe there are thousands of supporters out there that feel the same way. They want to donate, but first they want to know that their money is going to be used effectively. The campaign can't afford to have people hold back their money on such an important fundraiser.

I believe this can all be solved by going after Romney hard, just like the scathing ad you guys put out on Gingrich right before Iowa voted. If people see the campaign step up and get aggressive with Romney in a new ad, they will be reassured that their money is being used to actually win this election. The new ad running in Texas just doesn't cut it for enough people because it wastes too much time focusing on Gingrich, who has no chance and Santorum, who has already dropped out. Romney is barely mentioned. The new ad just doesn't inspire confidence in the campaign and donations. What they want to see is Romney cut off at the knees. They want to see the campaign get nasty with him. They want to see all this Romney/Paul alliance talk blow up in the media's face.

If the campaign released a brand new ad tomorrow "DURING" the money bomb hitting Romney hard where it hurts, I guarantee you that donations would spike. People would get excited again and donate all they could. I don't know the campaign's strategy and the reason why they haven't went after him hard yet, but the grassroots needs to be reassured. If the campaign can't do this, then I'm afraid the money bomb won't reach the $2.5 million goal. It might not even reach $1 million. I don't want that to happen, so I'm trying to explain why this is so important. The campaign needs to send a signal to the grassroots that it is ready to become the Anti-Romney and I believe this is the only way to do it. If they do this, the money will come faster than it has in months.

okay now way I'm going to get the poll up in the next hour, too drunk. also some people have been messaging/emailing in saying it should be really based on PST midnight since they didn't know they had to get their submissions in before midnight EST. so whatever, I'll have the poll up for PST midnight, that will be the final cut off.

Going to switch over the site though to direct everyone through link to the official campaign donation page now.
